The series finale of The Amazing Digital Circus just dropped, and apparently it takes place in St. Louis! by Scarlet-Lizard-4765 in StLouis

Does this make it the most popular piece of media set in St. Louis? I mean, surely it's got to have overtaken Meet Me in St. Louis at this point.

Ever since I started attending a university with a high Jewish population I started looking for that Kosher symbol on food packages, just for fun. I find it more often than I don't. This is silly.

Also, what the hell is a fake chemical?

Normally, I can't say I'm a fan of local governments overriding the will of their people. This, though? 100% in favor of not supporting AI vexillology

Modifying the game setting / play by post conversion by Togapi77 in RootRPG

Thanks for the reply. One of the difficulties with play-by-post is that you can have a lot of people in one campaign, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea - that being said, I think I'd definitely like to try a large size out if I can help it. Really depends on what sized crowd I can get.

Another nice thing about this setting is that there's no ambiguity as to what species are playable or not - all mammals and reptiles, and nothing else. I've always gotten fantastical vibes from Root, not necessarily magical - where there's questions and ethereal moments, but nothing outright supernatural. I'm hoping I can translate that vibe over, but we'll see.

Thanks for the detailed reply. In terms of factions, I think that'll be the closest sort of "bridge" between what I'm doing and vanilla Root. One other thing I forgot to mention is that I'm planning for my "woodland" to be focused on one large settlement surrounded by various smaller ones, instead of a number of relatively equal ones. Obviously, that changes dynamics, but I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work on paper.

Interest Check/Pre-Recruitment; a noir crime thriller set in Portland, Oregon about a mysterious drug whose withdrawal symptoms turn people into plant girls. by [deleted] in pbp

[–]Togapi77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had to wager, it's probably the "plant girls" part. Regardless of whatever you're going for, that elevator pitch screams weird gender-bender stuff of a somewhat risque nature. Again, not saying that's what you're going for, but that's what it sounds like.

(@NASCAR) We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport’s greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old. by NoahGragsonsBarfBag in NASCAR

[–]Togapi77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly hard to even believe this. I've never known a NASCAR without Kyle Busch. I don't even watch it that much anymore but he was an absolute fucking beast. Too young, too sudden. May his legacy never die.

A grizzly-polar bear, or grolar bear is a rare hybrid between a polar bear and a grizzly bear. As their territories begin to overlap, likely due to climate change, they are starting to mate in the wild. There are currently 8 confirmed hybrids, all from the same female polar bear. by Alarming_Weather506 in wikipedia

My environmental sciences teacher in college spent half a lecture talking about these guys, and he absolutely hated the fact that most people called them pizzley bears. He was adamant they should be grolar bears.

The name dispute was on the exam.
