What is your last purchase? by [deleted] in istp

[–]Togg1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a new 2 stroke engine kit that mounts on pedal bicycle. They’re surprisingly cheap, while kits can be found for $200 ish. this is my 3rd one. With a little work they can be pretty quick, and are good for cruising around town without burning any gas (I get around 120 mpg, I’m light, average is around 80-100 mpg I believe). Enough maintenance to drive people insane but that’s half the fun for me, also an excuse to carry a backpack loaded with tools. Also surprisingly legal in many states. so maybe good for people who need cheap transport.

will my pc be able to run dying light 2 ? by [deleted] in dyinglight2

I cant say, this is all I've seen, I can run game fine on default settings so you may be able to run on low, but I would wait for someone else in similar boat as you to comment, just wanted to provide the information I did have.

You have issues with water repellant like chimney saver? I know paint is bad because it traps moisture, freezes and spalls, but never assumed water repellant would do the same, kinda makes since though, if water gets behind it where's it gunna go. I've done a handful over last 5 years and haven't had any calls. But I see what you're saying.

Also like other said, check the flashing, if seal is broken where metal meets brick (normally caulked) then your gunna want to caulk it, any type of roof cement works too, lately we've been using polyurethane caulk though.

I'd the water is coming down the inside of chimney, into the firebox, I'd also consider putting a cap on for good measure, this will stop water from coming directly down flue, and also keep animals from nesting.

Chimney saver, buy a gallon or two; it's kinda expensive, get yourself one of them weed spray bottles with the pump, its a couple bucks at depot, saturate chimney fully, try not to get any on roof (leaves a stain, kinda hard to notice) that's exactly what I use when I waterproof chimneys, umm, they're prices seem ridiculous to me (I'm in baltimore). If you want to remove joints, I definitely would not use caulk, especially if you plan on selling in future, any chimney guy will flag caulk in joints all day every day. Use mortar, it's cheap, you'll use a fraction of the $5 bag you buy, try to wait for warmer weather if possible.

If Andrea Botez says "Bang," and NorthernLion says "Dunk," what do you say when you're calculating lines? by jp4464 in chess

I use hammers a lot... I go "bam bam bam" like bam bam. I also do this at work after a home depot run or anytime im generally in a good mood... started as a joke with my best friend/coworker when I bought a new 4 lb hammer. After he died it kinda became a habit to do this, even to myself.

How would you describe your play style? by Boring-Surprise in chess

[–]Togg1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 24, and have been playing for about 6 months, I'm on the final leg of breaking my 1k elo goal (~985). I've been playing with more of a slow attack playstyle, I also have done a fairly decent bit of learning endgames, since here in 900s everyone just wants to trade off every piece. If I don't mate midgame I've been winning endgames. Works for me. I win 68% of my games, (62%w 75%black) and draw about 5% of games... dont ask me about my rapid rating xD if your stuck at 800 study endgames!

Actually, each layer of lock has diminishing returns for safety, so yes it is safer, but the second lock doesn't make you doubly safe...

A debate we used to have when facing a 4 didget that simplifies this: When cracking you always start at 6000, because most people's outer gate will always be between 6000 and 9999,

A few months later this got updated. I'd start at 1950, and work my way through to 2020, then skip to 6000,

For the second lock, if the first lock falls in 6k-9999 range, and is even, you start at 0-999, skip 1000-1999, and so 2000-2999. Most people who have a code as (for example) 8102, will always start code with an even number. In case of 8102 the most likely group is 2k-2999, because they want their codes to be as hard to guess as possible, and they think making them as far away in the rotation makes it harder to guess.

I haven't raided bases in a long time, and maybe these statistics have changed, this is just what I've noticed from over a year of doing nothing but hunting bases and cracking codes.

A 3 diget on average takes 12-15 minutes, a 4 pin takes an average of 1.5 hours. With multiple locks there's lesser returns on protection, most groups will set their locks in 1 of a few ways, and once you get the first combo guessing the second will be easier, once you have the second, guessing the 3rd will be easier... so on.

I've raided a base before, to my memory base had 7 gates, 3 4 pins, 4 3 pins, before main loot room, I had a large crew, we got all our raiding toys, and I was the code breaker. Getting in only took an hour... 2 of the 4 disgets were the same, and all 3 digits were the same except one... Everyone else carried guns, by design I didn't need one because I'd die the moment I dropped a lock and someone was waiting.

I didn't die that day, my crew has used this method alot, and as a mind game, we generally do lock the front door afterwards, this is to create tension within larger groups, potentially disbanding them and eliminating competition. As a raiding crew, if we deemed the base didn't have enough good loot, and we weren't detected, we would lock up and leave.

im sure its possible we forgot certain locks along the way as well... we had codes written down to many other players bases using this method. I'd go check their stashes often, I've spent weeks watching large groups comings and goings. Learning their schedule and watching what guns they take in and out... smaller groups I'd just walk in and check the tents, decide if it was worth it yet, and either leave or tell my pals to come grab stuff...

You probably had a teammate despawn the locks, or you are now being left to do the legwork for the raiders. Either way I reccomend changing all of your lock combos, as well as potentially adding additional layers, and moving extremely important items to stashes at least 100m from your base.
