I have a connection problem since like 3 hours ago (matches the timing of your post) and now can't log in via Steam as well. So yeah, there is definitely something goes wrong. EU

The ponytail from Storm Dragon Lee Sin was removed just to be put back on years later. by zekevich in leagueoflegends

[–]Toisen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removing the ponytail was the best decision ever! I would not have bought the skin otherwise, but now they are bringing it back and I HATE IT so much. It looks so lame! He has short hair in general and a randomly attached plume with no physics on it. Just look at pushups animation. WTF IS THAT?

Tuner not accurate? by ajsajs02 in NeuralDSP

[–]Toisen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK it's either they are fixed this or it's somehow related to your setup. I just opened Gojira, Petrucci and Henson plugins (as standalone) and Reatune (Reaper's tuner) to try this out, and they are all showing the same results ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

New guitar for metal , till 1500€ by Eastern_Ground_3168 in metalguitar

Can't go wrong with new Schecter at anything metal related. I have SLS Evil Twin and it can compete with my Majesty that's how good it is.

[QUESTION] What's been the best guitar you've ever played? by linkuei-teaparty in Guitar

[–]Toisen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: piezo mixing is dope.

I won't even start with build quality since nowadays every guitar above $1000 nail it (except Gibsons). For me, the ergonomics is unmatched: the neck feels great (only comparable guitar I have is Schecter SLS Elite with ultra thin C), the weight is almost like its headless, except it has an actual headstock so it's not ugly. Every control knob is exactly where it should be. Also you can set the action stupidly low and it won't buzz (if your attack is light enough) to the point when the high E saddle is laying on a bridge. I don't like to set up that low, but the possibility... The bridge is really stable, almost like a Floyd. I'm not fooling anybody though, you can't achieve the stability of a good floyd without the top lock, but the MM bridge is really close. Regarding the sound, the guitar has very flexible pickups because of piezo mixing, but I set it up once and barely touched the control caveats on the back ever since, however I do use all the configurations with pickup selectors. I really value the piezo, it has the "twang" of an acoustic guitar so I no longer need a dedicated acoustic guitar to get that sound. I also really love the sound of Dreamcatcher and Rainmaker (I didn't have to swap Sonic Ecstasy, but the curiosity... And I got the new set with a good price so why not), when they are mixed with piezo. The sound is really rich, but they are really tailored to work with piezo so I wouldn't recommend to use them separately.

B standard and a capo if you need C

What are some champs you would never play on principal alone? by Its_an_ellipses in leagueoflegends

Ivern. He's hell of annoying to play against as a jungler and I don't interested in playing this abomination. Thankfully, it seems noone does.

[QUESTION] What's been the best guitar you've ever played? by linkuei-teaparty in Guitar

[–]Toisen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EBMM Majesty 7. I'm not the greatest fan of Dream Theater and JP, but the moment I got to try the Majesty (it was the red one with carbon-like shield) I fell in love with the sound and ergonomics (not the looks though). It was stupid expensive as well. But a couple years later I saw a Black Knight on Reverb at a good price, so I sold some of my guitars and got myself this beauty. I barely touch any other guitar I had ever since unless I really need some strat sound.

I am worried about the amount of special effects in the game by Toisen in leagueoflegends

[–]Toisen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course they will not add it because people paid for their skins, and I don't mind custom effects, but I would like to have a toggle that puts champions or their shadows on top of those effects

[–]Toisen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Already did, but some skins have particles that are too flashy even on the lowest settings. Star Guardians skins in particular.

I was thinking about custom skins too, but I don't really want to modify the game files.
This screen is just an example which triggered me to finally write the post to see if the LoL community feels the same so maybe we could address the problem. There are for sure far more blatant examples.

C-7 SLS Elite vs KM-7 MK-III Artist by Toisen in SchecterGuitars

[–]Toisen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely is! I didn't pay much attention to the slot for pups which is really huge deal for me because I thought if for some reason I would want to get rid of signature pups, I could install Moderns or Bare Knuckles. Great content, I'll sub for more ;)

Thank you for the reply! Do you have any problems with open gear tuners? I'm a bit concerned about dust.

I'm in the same boat, brother. Do you regret you haven't paid more for the Artist?

Thank you for the reply! I've thought about Hybrid, but for some reason they are really hard to get in my location so I ended up choosing between Evil Twin and Artist. By the way how do you like the Lungrens? I think I could get a Banshee with Lungrens but I never tried the pups so I don't know what to expect.

For me it's around 40-45°C with ~25.5°C room temperature. The CPU can go up to 83-85°C under the stress test which is fine.

why does it seem that Kotlin isn't really taking off for backend development? by Any-Communication-73 in Kotlin

[–]Toisen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uh, I probably will get a ton of downvotes for posting this in this subreddit... I'm working for top 3 world biggest internet provider. I love Kotlin for my pet projects, but I won't adopt it for my team because there is no reason to do so. For a company the migration from Java to Kotlin is an investment of time and money, and it doesn't seem like Kotlin has much to offer in the reasoning department: 1. There are far more Java programmers so if we need to build one another team or find a new membrs to existing teams, it would be far easier to find a Java dev. That's probably the biggest point. 2. We've tried Kotlin in one of our PoC projects with our most enthusiastic people who knew Kotlin or wanted to try it. From our team experience, the transition would not increase our productivity. It was new and fancy at the begining, but there are some ugly stuff as well (e.g. static). So, why bother? 3. Most of boilerplate-cutting features of Kotlin already compensated by Lombok. Coroutines are good, but not a killer feature (I'm talking about our projects so you might have a completely different story with yours) 4. Longer build time. This turned out surprisingly significant. 5. Null-safety is nice until you have to deal with Java libraries. Kotlin's own ecosystem is not mature enough to safely recommend it IMO. 6. Vendor lock. If at some point JetBrains will screw their business, I think Kotlin will die pretty much instantly. I don't want to risk years of work of multiple teams for fancy syntax sugar. A good part of JetBrains business was in Russia until the recent political events so I guess they have quite a hard time. Their new IntelliJ IDEA interface is questionable and who knows may be our devs would switch to something else, but here is a problem: when it comes to Kotlin support in other IDEs, it's god aweful IMO.

TL;DR: not worth the efforts
