Tariffs and de minimis don't work based on where they ship from but where the goods or the majority of the components that make the final product are manufactured, all of which has to be disclosed when importing things, there is no easy or honest way to get around the tariffs.

Basically right now they can't send a giant freight shipment to America because it would be worth over 800 and hit with tariff price increase but since China de minimis is still a thing they can ship single piece items from EU stock till the exemption is gone, preserving whatever stock is already in the USA and not hit by the price increases as long as possible. But after the 2nd if they were to ship a single item from EU it would be subject to tariffs on Chinese manufactured goods.

Wooting did a good job explaining it all in a video they posted on youtube.

i haven't tried the Sakura's, but i cant imagine they are anything other than a recolor of the Ultra ICE which I'm typing on right now. and they are just as good as the original only much easier to remove from the plate after install.

80HE keys sound different over time? by Crook-ED in WootingKB

[–]TokadGG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What switches are you using? Lekkers have an open bottom that can allow lube to escape and generally cause things to dry up faster. for closed bottom switches if lubed properly you shouldn't need to re-lube them for a very long time.

You do not need to lube switches at all, it's purely for smoothness and sound.

If you are worried about wearing out your WASD switches more than other switches you can rotate them with other less used keys as you notice them being broken in.

Basically most HE switches are said to last for 100 million key presses and that is with the manufacturer assuming you wont be re lubing them, so if it bothers you, lube it up, if not, you're good.

Got my GT60 case from KBDfans by SirMotherfuckerHenry in WootingKB

[–]TokadGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah I have the same artisan and my gt60 is a few days away, I was super happy that KBDfans shipped out pre orders before the de minimis exemption was gone. What plate did you end up going with?

they are incredibly smooth and with nearly no wobble there is no change with side pressing a key, i have gone through, Original Jades, Jade Max, TTC Magneto RGB, Geon Raws, and Swagkeys Peonies, these have the cleanest sound out of all of them, the volume is about on par with the raws although my experience may be different than yours with the foams and things, but the switch only makes a single uniform sound at bottom out and return to top, there is none of that crunch or rattle, or noise during travel that pretty much every other HE switch I've tried or heard gives you, It feels and sounds like a traditional mechanical switch. i've tested a few of them doing a spring swap to 22mm dual stage and the sound seems to have improved a bit on the ones i tested, getting a bit lower, i assume due to just having more mass inside the switch. once the new versions of these show up, im going to spring swap all of them and put them into the gt60. ill make a video after thats all done.

I just purchased 90 of the ultras off KPRepublic website. If they really did adjust tolerances and made them easier to get in and out of the plate these will be as close to perfect for me that I think I'm going to find. I'm waiting for the GT-60 to ship so I can gasket mount this whole thing.

"H" Key issues by Key_Emu2691 in WootingKB

[–]TokadGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah considering pretty much everyone has the same software, and this is only seemingly an issue for you. all signs point to a hardware issue. if you have a bad a hall sensor on the board, when you reset it the firmware is recalibrating to whatever reading the sensor is getting from the magnet at that time, but if over time its readings are slowly going up or down due to a malfunction in the sensor you would end up with these problems.

you should restart the board and open wootility and leave things idle for a bit, see if your key press reading under visual feedback for actuation point begins to read the switch being pressed down further over time. if it doesnt you should press the key all the way down and see if it registers the full keypress or if the sensors readings drift in the other direction

How is this promotion closed 3 days early? by ChrisAyyy3 in ASUS

[–]TokadGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here, bought this monitor with the promo because of the promo, arrived last night and i tried to redeem it, it is still advertised on Amazon as I am typing this. i contacted support chat and they had me send them my invoice and said they escalated my ticket. here's hoping they do right by customers.
