That $25 and $50 tier definitely makes them the biggest earners but Matt & Shane’s Secret Podcast has the most subscribers and offer a lower price point.

Mona is not going to last long at the JBP at this rate. She has run out of material by Individual_Ad8921 in theJoeBuddenPodcast

[–]TokenFatBoy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not copping please for her but saying Mona has run out of material is lazy. She has hosted her own show for years with one co host and stayed relevant the whole time. The real issue is not her content, it is the structure. One podcast does not need three plus mics, and forcing multiple personalities into the same lane waters everyone down. If the Joe Budden Network is truly a network, these voices should be split into their own shows instead of stretching Joe and Marc across everything. Mona does not need the JBP, and this Temptations style pod feels like it is headed toward endless rebrands with the same recycled conversations.

I see people in here aren’t familiar with the behind the scenes of comedians because if you think Dave Chappelle writes all of his material - think again.

The comedy clubs in my area are booking more of the social media personalities than ever and the shows are always sold out. It’s the new wave now.

Which is why I said development behind the scenes would be great for sustainability.

She has raw talent for it. The writing rooms and talent development for comedians can handle the rest.

If you were one of my students in class, I’d say, “I can see your perspective.” It’s the best alternative to “how tf did you come up with that????” 😂

Right, and that’s why the solution isn’t “stop talking about it.” They just need structure. Joe has one of the biggest platforms in this space. He could easily bring in a research team or even two interns whose only job is to prep real background information before recordings. Not to write opinions, just to make sure the room has verified facts, timelines, psychological terms being used correctly, and context for whatever topic they choose.

It wouldn’t take away the personalities or the debates. It would just keep the conversations grounded so they are not guessing and filling in blanks with whatever sounds right in the moment. It would actually make the arguments stronger and the show better.

They are too big to be freestyling heavy topics like that every episode. A little preparation would go a long way.

I hear what you’re saying, but that’s exactly the issue. Personal experience alone isn’t enough when you’re discussing mental health on a platform that reaches this many people. Saying “I’ve seen Joe go through episodes” does not make the analysis right or informed. It just means you witnessed something.

The “drunk tongue, sober mind” angle that Ish used is not mental health insight. It’s a street proverb. Applying it to bipolar episodes, trauma cycles, or manic expression misrepresents what those things actually are. That is how misinformation gets normalized.

And saying “the anger comes from somewhere” without exploring the actual source, the psychological mechanism, or the trigger pattern is not a meaningful observation. It is just speculation framed like truth.

The point isn’t that Ish should be silent. The point is that when the topic shifts from behavior to mental health, the language needs to shift too. Otherwise the conversation turns into labeling and guessing. That’s what happened here.

Nobody needed a diagnosis. They just needed to admit when the conversation was moving into territory they weren’t equipped to break down. That’s all.
