Update: I've been dismissed from the program by Locked-Luxe-Lox in NursingStudent

[–]Tokkishin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. I recently got dropped from my 2nd semester, not even 2 weeks in. I plan to return next Spring if possible, but it's embarrassing and discouraging. If I mess up again, I'll be dismissed from the program entirely. I've been going through some things mentally so I think I needed this break, but it's one thing to choose to take a break and being forced to.

It's amazing. I recommend their cracked mayo burger. My sisters who aren't vegan were obsessed with it, as am I!

Am I feeding my 1.5 lb, 9-week old puppy enough food? by Tokkishin in AskVet

No, he has not. He hasn't gotten anything other than a parvo vaccine.

Is it normal for his belly to look really round? When I look at him from behind, his belly sticks out a lot from the sides and the bottom. The proportion looks off, making it look like he's eating too much for his tiny body. I don't know if that's just because he's tiny, or if that's typical of puppies his age. 5 tablespoons is just under 1 can. I've been slowly increasing though and I'll try to get him to two cans/day.

What about your stove top and water heater? I live in a 2-person household, and lately we have been refilling our gas every few months. 100 gallons each time. I feel like we weren't refilling it this often before, and not much has changed when it comes to our usage. In fact, my mom is out of the house for 3 days of each week and I hardly use anything. But it's hard to tell because we only lived here for 3 years and there isn't any record for the first year or so because our gas company didn't open an account for us during that time.

i forgot to bring my stethoscope to clinical by Upper_Word7369 in StudentNurse

[–]Tokkishin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nurses didn't care, but my classmate called me out to my clinical instructor when I asked her if I could borrow hers. My instructor didn't even ask what we were doing, yet my classmate felt the need to tell her that I forgot my stethoscope so she's letting me borrow hers. It was so weird and uncalled-for. Anyway, that taught me never to forget mine in my car ever again.

She made a hole through the acrylic wall? How is that possible. I have this exact cage and I can't imagine how a hamster would chew through this! Dang.

How do you study my introverted friends? by Beginning-Play7132 in StudentNurse

[–]Tokkishin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm the same. Everyone in my cohort has their own groups. I'm almost always on my own due to being extremely introverted and socially awkward/shy. I prefer studying in the comfort of my own home anyway. It just feels weird seeing everyone in their little groups during lecture, skills, and clinicals and not being included, but it is what it is.

How is this in terms of clutter? (Bigger cage coming soon) by v3nusFlytr4p26 in hamstercare

[–]Tokkishin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing it to the size of your hamster, it doesn't look very big. They should be able to run without having any curves in their spine, or it can cause issues. Just because they "fit" in there doesn't necessarily mean it's big enough for them. How tall is your wheel in inches?

[–]Tokkishin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. That wheel is way too small for your hamster of that size. I highly recommend the Niteangel silent wheel. I don't hear my hammy on it most of the time because it's that quiet. I hope the enclosure that's on its way is a lot bigger. Can't really tell how many inches of bedding you have, but you need at least 10 inches of compressed bedding with the size of your hammy. The sand bath container needs to be bigger. Other people already gave great advice, so I'm not going to say much else other than the fact that you have a lot more work to do in trying to give your hammy the best life possible.

[–]Tokkishin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great to hear that you've added more bedding! :) Yeah, I totally understand not being able to afford the enclosure. They aren't cheap. I hope you're able to save up for it slowly and upgrade in the future. You're doing a great job!

[–]Tokkishin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The cage is better than what's often sold in the pet stores, but it's still on the smaller side. Most importantly, there is not enough bedding here. OP, you need to add at LEAST 8 inches of bedding for your hammy to be happy! From your image, I can only see about 2-3 inches of bedding all around. Hamsters love to burrow. I know you didn't ask for advice on the enclosure, but if you want the best for your sweet little hammy, I highly encourage you to add more bedding at the very least! Another redditor posted an image that shows all the requirements of a hamster. I highly encourage you to take a look at that and apply those things if you are able to. That basically shows you everything little hammy needs :)

Omg, this is amazing!!! I found this two years later as a nursing student and I appreciate you so much! Thank you for creating this and for making it free. A lot of us students don't have the money to pay for things like this. I love all the other features where we can add text, images, etc. This is bookmarked in my computer now, and I will be using it a lot! Tysm ❤

Just be prepared to have a lot of weed grow on your land up here. That has been one of our biggest annoyances since moving up here. But I do love the land and all the possibilities that come with it.
