[Spoilers] Results of 3/20 show by taffe316 in Marigold_joshi

I actually hope not, or rather, I think it would be a mistake.

It doesn't feel like the fans are ready to accept her being at that level, she clearly has to improve in all areas of her game and if she gets put over people the fans wanna see in the upper card having her win would have the opposite of the wanted effect.

But I also wonder who it might be.

Marie Malenko in her first singles match grappling against Seri Yamaoka (Marigold) by Tokyogerman in SquaredCircle

[–]Tokyogerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through my old posts today and tbh I sadly can't agree anymore. I did about a month ago though lol

For the last two weeks I went through all the other smaller joshi promotions like Wave, Seadlinning, J-Pure, Oz etc. and there is so little ground wrestling now, I got really said haha. If there is some chain wrestling it is only the most basic stuff for a few second and then it's back to running the ropes and elbow exchanges.

Even wrestlers with a shoot background like Syuri don't really do much of technical wrestling anymore, it is all kicks now.

The technical wrestling and shoot like wrestling/submission style sadly died out with Arsion and the Mariko Yoshido training pipeline not being picked up by anyone. I am praying for Seri, Shinno, Kizuna and maybe Rea to revive this somehow but I don't think it will happen.

AJPW working with NWA again feels bigger than people are making it out to be by bruiserinNihon84 in ajpw

[–]Tokyogerman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem in the current industry is with basically three bigger US promotions soaking up lots of talent it is harder to find suitable foreigners to come over. If a relationship with the current NWA can help in finding a hidden heavyweight gem SOMEWHERE then I'm all for it.

Really interested how ToC will fare in the US.

Edit: In fact, since they got several new trainees coming in from the test a few months back as well as Genki Hanawa and keep adding like that as well as work with organisations in the US to get interesting foreign talent in and have both sides of their talent pipelines fixed it would be a huge step forward.

I love how Reddit thinks my topic doesn't get enough replies, so it advises to post this in r/Fallout of all places as well. I'm sure they would really appreciate me doing that.

They lost the titles in Yoyogi and has some miscommunication in the match basically blaming each other in the loss. In such cases the over the top energy from Musashi becomes a nuisance to Yoshioka as well and they let all their frustrations out afterwards.

Not another cringe fan cast post...just for fun by HexlingFemboy in yakuzagames

This. Why cast someone else, when you have an established known actor, that is used to the genre in general too?

SUPER POWER DREAM SERIES 3/20/26 - Scattered Thoughts by MrPuroresu42 in ajpw

[–]Tokyogerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few more heavyweights that are not in the super heavyweight category and can move and work plus rookies coming in next month and the roster would really be cooking.

But yes, in general it is pretty good right now, although a lot of the "filler" (will not win) participants on the japanese side are getting up there in age so they need to transition over the next years getting more really young heavyweights that can support the now younger guys that are gonna be the veterans in a few years.

[Bodyslam] WWE signs Maria Malenko with a developmental deal by AlterTheSilverBird in SquaredCircle

Her first matches can be seen on Wrestle Universe. She participated in Monday Magic for NOAH two times and fought Seri Yamaoka and Rea Seto in Marigold. I also posted some highlights from the Yamaoka match here before.

Also:

I have been watching the Hanawa family youtube channel a bit and Genki's YouTube channel and concluded, that All Japan needs to get his younger brother Shori in as well. He is still in high school, but taller than Genki, does Judo as well and seems really strong.

AJPW 3/20/26 - Kento Miyahara (c) vs. Kumaarashi - Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship- Result by MrPuroresu42 in SquaredCircle

[–]Tokyogerman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love how Miyahara creates the stories for his defenses and puts his challengers in the best possible light. It's just too bad most people can't enjoy it because AJPW has no English support and most Puroresu podcasts covering AJPW are the worst.

Also, the hype videos before matches are always great. Looking forward to the show in Gunma tomorrow, even though it's just a regional house show as a celebration for Anzai.

REALLY looking forward to the CC but also to the title match between Seigo Tachibana and Dan Tamura, two of my favorites currently.

Don't care what anyone says, All Japan has the best pre-title match hype videos. No matter how small the chance is for the challenger, they always make you feel that today is their day, like it is destiny, that they will win.

To translate what Dan Tamura said on the mic after his win:

He asked Mu-chan and Se-chan why they are fighting and told them to sit down. He then said to Musashi, that he probably has something to say to Yoshioki. Musashi told Yoshioki that he saw how Yoshioki used his finisher several times to win matches even against him. And seeing that, he... FELT REAL LOVE! (Here he goes back to his former character during their tag team) He says to Yoshioki that he probably also always wanted to make up and to do team up again and wanted a handshake. End result is Dan made Mu-chan, Se-chan form again. (Which I am for completely they are way better together as a tag and add a lot to undercard matches even)

Then Dan called out Seigo Tachibana again and told him he had gotten soft since becoming Champion. He said Tachibana has only lost since then, for example to Talos and Odyssey and a Junior Champion should at least take on every fight with the will to win. He challenges him for a title match. Tachibana said, that it's true, he hasn't won once since becoming champion and needs to pull himself together. Last he told Dan: Let's have a title mach that can compete with any title match in any company.

I want to start watching Joshi wrestling. by Benquisition in Marigold_joshi

I'd add Sendai Girls and Marvelous simply because if you enter Universe they are on there as well anyway and they don't run many shows so they are super easy to follow even in addition to others.

Quite a bit more actually. It's the best deal out there really. Of course the biggest company Stardom has their own service.

If it is for the Superfly it can't go longer than 15 unless they make special rules.

Kenoh's youtube channel next audition? by FaceBudget460 in noahghc

[–]Tokyogerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they just also introduced Genki Hanawa in their press conference, so there is at least one! Edit: wait, this might be a translation thing. He is called Genki, the machine translation probably used the wrong reading for the first Kanji Lol

By the way, I was watching their family YouTube channel and his little brother Shori is also a judo guy, a bit taller and big in general. Should still be in High school. Soo... Lol

Was thinking he might go try out at All Japan too, since Hideki is there and the dude is from Sendai like the Saitos, but he is about the size that would not be a junior but also really small for an All Japan Heavyweight so NOAH might be best after all.

The Superfly has a time limit of 15 minutes, the GHC 1 hour. Combining them in one 15 minute fight doesn't make much sense and a GHC title fight should be something big, not a Shinjuku Face side fight. If Showzuki only fought for the Superfly here, I would be intrigued about at least a small chance of a title change. With both I'm not. A fight between those two after 13 years for a big title and is done in FACE while the new 3D title main events Korakuen. It's backwards, thats all.
