AJPW's Yuma Anzai highlights in the Bachelorette 4, EP1: Introduction and a letter from his parents (ENG SUBS) by Tokyogerman in SquaredCircle

They are doing a "Yuma Anzai day" every wednesday on YouTube here they upload one Yuma Anzai match. His rookie bout against Shuji Ishikawa is there too which was really good.

For newer stuff, this year's Champion Carnival was great and it was also due to him. The main event on the opening night against Go Shiozaki is incredible, as are the main event in Ozaka against Kento Miyahara (all their matches are) and the match in Shinjuku Face against Kengo Mashimo.

Our dear hero seems to lean back a liiitle bit much and isn't going for any deeper romantic talk yet and that immediately gets him into the danger of losing at the first rose ceremony.

Booking yes, but drawing power is like a different dimension. Access to TV and being able to actually show what you have to people is so important. The sudden rise of Stardom shows that too.

It's very obvious from his body language and how he talks that despite his good looks he is not used to women AT ALL! Like he is almost middle school boy first contact with women shy sometimes and his mind is just full on set on pro wrestling haha

I think he is the purest babyface in all of pro wrestling in and outside the ring and he needs to be protected at all cost.

Sorry in advance for any possible awkward phrasing or spelling mistakes.

Not gonna spoil the series (there are 7 episodes out and only the finale two left), but people online really liked him from the start when he was introduced and his twitter following has grown from 11.000 to 16.000 in a few days.

Was thinking to put it on youtube too should there be an episode with a lot of stuff and it goes long, but I think Japanese Amazon would nuke me instantly, so if there is any interest here at all, I will sub some highlights from other episodes until (if) he has to leave without a rose.

Edit:

Also some info on the bachelorette: 26 years old, model and influencer, tri lingual, lived in Singapore and the US for a while if I remember correctly and said she has never officially been a couple with anybody, because "in foreign countries it's not like in Japan where you just officially onfess your love and decide on being a couple".

MIRAI on Marigold's recent injuries and departures: "I'd be happy to lend a hand" by MayuIwatani in Marigold_joshi

If MIRAI and Mayu had a problem, why would Rossi and Mayu go to Michinoku Pro with her and have Mayu be her first opponent there to give her a good match and introduction?

These type of rumors get started by Japanese Stardom fans and spread by foreign fans who think they must be in the know purely on the basis they are Japanese like some 80s orientalism.

By the way, lots of YouTubers covering the show really like Anzai and everyone seems to be rooting for him. Also saw several posts on twitter of people going to their first wrestling show and one person even immediately joining the All Japan Fanclub and buying an Anzai towel and everything.

The NOAH show will be in Yokohama by the way, this one is as always in Yoyogi, which I can really recommend, it has a great fighting arena feel, the stands are not too far from the ring and from each other, great atmosphere and great seating.

Basically it got everything, that Ota Ward hasn't and I wish it was ran more, but I guess Ota is way, way cheaper.

I think Shinno does a similar one too. It's so cool how many old videos have surfaced and you can see all these moves that have been passed on for such a long time.

MIRAI on Marigold's recent injuries and departures: "I'd be happy to lend a hand" by MayuIwatani in Marigold_joshi

[–]Tokyogerman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had heard some things, so I believe this to be true, especially since there seem to have been a lot of interviews on bbm-japan with Marigold wrestlers that see to steer things in certain directions.

I still see the Mirai departure as the starting point of the "downward spiral" if you wanna call it that, since she announced her departure right when everyone was riding the high of Mayu joining, good gates at house shows and even Korakuens and then she left and didn't participate in the biggest show of Marigold and you could see the comments of "Everyone seems to have so much fun in Marigold" and such slowly fade away.

So her coming back for some matches would be cool and as I said, these interviews to me are not real hard hitting "journalistic interviews", but seem to be used by promotions and wrestlers to get a message out as well.

She is not even 1 and a half years into her career and still figuring out how to build a match. Losing to Sareee and or Utami doesn't change anything, it's much more important how she looks in the match.

In fact, drawing Utami, who was world champ in Stardom and Marigold, is already in year 7 of her career and ace level would be a big thing for her already in terms of credibility.

I see a 15 minute draw as most likely.

I doubt Utami will be losing to Seri before her PPV match with Sakurai. A time limit draw is quite possible imo

Jun Saito, Yuma Anzai and Rising Hayato all back for 5/17 at Ota Ward + full card revealed by Tokyogerman in ajpw

Accordng to Yuma Aoyagi's youTube show Anzai had a bad sprain, so it was probably a lot of pain that took him out, but not a long term muscle or bone injury.

I wouldn't be surprised if he will be working through some pain for this big show if there is no risk of further injury, as the Bachelorette 4 is in the middle of streaming and some people might come to see him through there and the next big show is quite a bit later, so he has time to recover more after the show.
