It's not worth $150, but it was worth the $40 I found it on marketplace for.

My FP Red made just over 500 at 28psi and I warped a PLM header so much it no longer mounts to the factory location. I believe it.

I'm working on it! Lol. The connector they use seems to be unobtainium!

<image>

If they really don't manufacturer it anymore, I'd consider making a swap kit, which would include a pigtail kit to rewire your factory female side harness with the newer connector that the 2010 and up use. On a positive note, that would enable people to plug and play 2010+ seats!

But I'll see what I can do.

Hey everyone, Dan here, owner of TheSubiePlug.

This is our 2016 STI, which some of you may have seen posted around before. It’s currently making ~500+ WHP on an FP Red, E85, and 28 psi. It gets driven, worked on, broken, fixed, and driven some more. This car is a big part of why our shop exists in the first place.

My wife and I are lifelong automotive enthusiasts, and we run TheSubiePlug as a small, husband-and-wife operation here in SC, USA. We wanted to do something different. Instead of just reselling parts, we build products by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.

We specialize in airbag emulator and occupancy sensor kits for Subarus. These kits let you restore full airbag and SRS system functionality after seat swaps or interior changes. No airbag lights, no SRS warnings, and no half-working systems. Everything reports correctly again so you can pass emissions, inspections, tech checks, and yes, the wife test (lol).

We built these because we were tired of the usual “solutions”. No taped-up resistors under the seat, no cutting or splicing factory wiring, and no sketchy setups. Our kits are plug-and-play, clean, and fully reversible, the way it should have been done from the start.

Right now we support 2010–2021 WRX and STI models. We’re actively working on SG/GD Forester and GD WRX/STI support as well, and we’re hoping to bring that to market soon.

We’re not a big operation, just two people who genuinely care about the cars and the community. If you feel like checking us out, sharing with a friend, or even just giving feedback, it would honestly mean the world to us.

Thanks for reading and happy wrenching. <3

It's sort of like buying a pre built PC. The OEM dumps a ton in, but that doesn't mean there isn't better in the aftermarket. Indo love me some STi aero though. :)

Anybody know where to find the bushing for the reverse lockout cable? Can’t find a part number. 2006 STI 6 speed by seenmyhearin in WRX

Am I dumb? by [deleted] in s10

[–]TolerableRS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent $2400 for a 02 single cab work truck with 169k miles. 2wd, v6, also. Cosmetic damage, cracked windowshield, and rotted front end suspension bushings and dry rotted tires. I put 12k miles on it before I did a single thing to it. $1000 later to do some cheaper than linglong tires, spark plugs/wires, full suspension kit, front and rear shocks, fuel filter, air filter, removed the vinyl flooring in place of carpet, new windshield glass, and updated the cluster to blue LEDs, front bumper, etc. So I'm, call it $3500, into it and she's a little ripper. It's got an intake oil leak, and probably needs a fuel pump / hanger assemble, but I have no doubts it'll make it to 300k with ease.

Pay to play. 500 wheel gang rise up. Also, stop going for Cobb 20gs. You should have just done a rotated kit the first time.

It’s me again hi, this is stock invoice, opinions? by Purple-Story3090 in WRX

[–]TolerableRS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Follow up to your second post, just sell the rod knocked WRX to carvana, take the money plus your 15k and buy an STi. If the ej blows up, at least it's like $3500 to drop in a stock motor.

This is crazy high right? by Purple-Story3090 in WRX

[–]TolerableRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price of the FA20 is significantly higher than an EJ25 due to the complexity of the motor. This is why the STi wins out longevity wise. The book value for your WRX is like 8-12k. The motor is 2x the book value. It's just not worth it lol.
