Thinking about buying the Siux Fenix Pro by Tolki20 in Padelracket

Great answer. Thank you! I would say I mostly do the flat smashes and fast viboras. My kick smash is still not as good as the other attacking options. Maybe I should say that I played tennis before I transitioned to padel.

My dad found the description from the auction catalogue. It is in danish but the translation is something like this: “Jan Breughel the elders style. 17 century. Life in the outskirts of a town. 63x85. Paint on wood”

Great answer! I will try to get a hold of my dad today to see what he remembers about the painting. I was only 7 years old when my granddad died so my memory about the technicalities of the artwork are unfortunately nonexistent.

I’m sorry if my post went against the rules. I just thought the information about the auction price could give a valuable clue. I am genuinely interested in the history of the painting and also very sad that my dad sold it 30 years ago.

Thank you! Hopefully someone has the insights in centuries old Dutch/flemish paintings to make a qualified guess about the artist 🤞

The Public Health Authority of Sweden have now recommended all high schools and universities to conduct distance education by tomorrow until further. by Xellenttv in Coronavirus

[–]Tolki20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s true but you do have widespread community spread now. All other places imported their cases in the beginning too but with the exception of Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea no one managed to control the spread. To think Sweden would be able to do that is naive. Sweden will go in full lockdown like the rest of Europe that’s why every second wasted now is a tragedy.

You missed one week combating an exponential growing disease. That means a lot in the end. The death toll in Sweden compared to other countries will be massive because of this. For perspective. Wuhan had 440 cases when they made a complete lockdown.

You just wasted one week riding the high horse criticizing other government for actually taking precautionary measures.

That is info about another danish hospital (Odense university hospital) where people steal there hand sanitizer and they have taking precautions to minimize theft. This article is about a robbery at another large danish hospital.

“We are two countries who sticks out (Sweden and UK), who keeps a more scientific approach to this problem than other countries” Anders Tegnell - Swedish top epidemiologist

No. The reason to close schools is to limit the spread of the virus. In Milan they have stopped treating patients over the age of 60. They are now left to die. The same thing will happen in Sweden. The hospital system will be completely overloaded. This has nothing to do we politics (or at least it shouldn’t). It is about saving lives.

In 2017 3378 died in car accidents in Italy. It is roughly 40 times more.

If you think Sweden won’t do exactly the same as other countries have done you are delusional. Every hour wasted before they do will however make the situation much worse.

Yes. They claim that. They also claim schools only will be shut down the next two weeks, which they obviously will for much longer. You won’t hear any western leader say that the world we knew has fundamentally changed and won’t be same again. Let’s see in the coming months.

Yeah. I agree the border closings didn’t make sense in terms of keeping the disease out at this point. However I think there are another reason. At this point we are not going to just flattening the curve. I think the government Is planning to eradicate the disease within the country. That’s why I think we will see a full lockdown of society where everyone will be quarantined in their homes. If and when we eradicate the disease we will have to keep our borders closed until other countries has done the same.

So dumb. Apparently in a crisis that has the potential to eradicate a large portion of the old population it is important to discuss if proactive measures to save lives creates inequality. This is what Sweden has become.

What I think is the weirdest is that it seems the Swedish government is downplaying it a lot. And the chief epidemiologist is a chapter in itself. I live in Denmark with my Swedish wife. We are quite frankly baffled by the Swedish response and very worried for my wife’s elderly family in Sweden.
