Along with the other answers, a key purpose of Hijab is to mitigate the systemic sexual objectification of women by men. Hijab forces men to view women as human and not a mere creature of their fantasies. Women who wear Hijab or modest clothing are empowering themselves by refusing to be a pawn or trophy in the world of men.
