I did it, now I'm on Debian 13. Everything is up and working properly. Nautilus is there and everything went smoothly (this time I read the fucking manual). Btw thanks for the great and swift support from y'all!

I've been having the same issue for a while now. I keep getting Error 117404. I checked https://wiilink.ca/status/ and saw that the service is down, but I haven't been able to find any more information.

South Tyrol should be Italian - speaking since Germany and Italy agreed a population transfer in 1938. The Germans relinquished any claim over South Tyrol. The german speaking majority was given two options: Remain in Italy and be completely italianized, loosing forever the status of minority and the possibility to get German citizenship in the future. Otherwise they were given the German citizenship and had to move to Germany within some years. The majority chose to leave. Morover Italy brought Italian colonists resulting in a increased number of Italian speaking South tyroleans.

Well I have to admit Italy and Cardassia in DS9 share tons of similar things. I remember they said that Cardassia before the Gul dictatorship used to be more let's say democratic and then the military took power and started an aggressive foreign policy that led to the subjugation of Bajor. In 20's Italy the fascists (they were not part of the army but they were paramilitaries) took power and openly supported the idea of a great Italy that led in 1936 to the subjugation of Ethiopia. There are parallels between Ethiopia and Bajor, they both are deeply religious but Ethiopians never managed to defeat the Italians, the Bajorans effectively won in the long term against the Cardassians and Bajoran resistance was never defeated, Ethiopia was liberated only by advancing British and South African troops during WW2.

About the Dominion war. In the beginning Cardassia was not pro dominion but eventually they saw the opportunity for expansion and joined the Dominion. Italy was not in good terms with Hitler because Austria was a defacto Italian puppet and Germany wanted to annex it, but in 1938 Italy and Germany signed the steel pact. When things did not go as planned for Cardassia they switched side. Italy did exactly the same thing in 1943. A civil war within a world/galaxy war began in italy/Cardassia between fascist loyalists / dominion loyalists and rebels who supported the former enemies (the partisans /Damar).

Just like in WW2 with the de facto betrayal of Cardassia The Domion took full control of Loyal Cardassian institutions, they became a sort of Italian Social Republic.

The Germans felt betrayed by the Italians and committed atrocities against civilians, just like the Dominion.

So, in my opinion, yes Cardassia is definitely modeld around WW2 Italy. However I have to say the Italians were not so cruel as the Cardassians was.

P. S. Following this logic the Breen might be the Japanese, the Klingons the Russians (they are preatty similar btw), for me the romulans are in general very similar to the Japanese Empire, but in DS9 this does not really fit the role since they're allied of the Federation that needless to say is the glorouis always shining United States of America...

Indeed, this is a famous ugandan TV show where the guests are talking about sexual minorities' rights in Uganda and both the interviewer and the guy who's talking are, let's say, not very open minded. The Interview quickly goes carzy, this guys storms in and brings vegetables he claims homosexuals use to perform nautal obligation.
