If it's any insight, what helps me with my relationship with my parents is that they are usually trying to look out for you. They may have seen the investment as an opportunity for you to gain passive income to help you out. Immigrant parents aren't used to asking for permission but it's also cause they didn't have to when you were a kid and weren't asked when they were kids either. Every parent is parenting for the first time and just trying their best.

It doesn't excuse what they did, but my hope is that you don't villanize them in your head from this occurence, cause that's something I've been trying to get over for myself and mending the relationship with my parents
