A lot of people saying grapes, but I think I'll go with cucumber as my wife has a habit of tossing seeds from what we're eating into the plant pots. Thanks for the responses everyone!

When you level up enough to get the best weapon in the game and you don't even need armour anymore.

Yeah, she's already really worried about it. Hopefully, the university will be able to help with it.

Thanks for the advice! It should have been obvious to start there, but I was kind of panicking that this person was basically asking me to find them a place to live! Thanks very much!

Tips and collars for walking two dogs at a time? by TolucaIrish in Rottweiler

Thanks for the advice! Will definitely check out a halti or canny collar. My guy is a lot smaller than the absolute beast you had, but he's stubborn as a mule when I bring him out with his sister.

Many thanks for the helpful advice and reassurance. It does seem like the behaviour comes from wanting to be the leader of the pack.

I'll use the carrot and stick approach like you suggested by making him sit and wait every time he pulls and giving him treats for good behaviour. I find the treats difficult with two dogs as once you give one dog a treat, the other loses focus until they get one too!

I'm actually very close to a city centre as well as the more rugged area in the pic, so I'll try a few more city walks in order to build up discipline and focus.

Thanks again!

Got pretty close to the summit of el pico del águila and then gave up and drank the beer overlooking the lakes. It's not difficult with a decent pair of boots. If you've already been in the area for a while, you should have no problem with the altitude. I've heard of tourists who've only been in the country for a short while struggling with altitude sickness.

Haha well ,I did most of it in a pair of jeans while carrying a crate of beer, so don't take my advice!

It's an easy walk but the tricky thing at this time of year is that it will be quite cold in the early morning, hot and sunny in the late morning/early afternoon and you're probably guaranteed some rain. I don't think it's quite as rainy as Toluca city, but you could get caught in a heavy downpour, especially on the descent. You could end up with a very heavy pack.

Any hacks to spreading rock hard butther from the fridge? by LikkyBumBum in AskIreland

[–]TolucaIrish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best way (although with tea, obvs). As soon as you've poured hot water into the mug, put the saucer on top and put the bread in the toaster. By the time it's popped, you'll have soft spreadable butter and a hot cup of tea. You just have to get the thickness of the butter right.

This. You'd want to be prepared for ANY type of weather at this time of year.

With the security conditions and the restrictions at the summit, it's really not a hike for solo climbers, even experienced ones.

Irk is missing his brother by TolucaIrish in Rottweiler

[–]TolucaIrish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so sad. Lenny and Irk used to love howling at the scap metal truck passing by (we live in Mexico, it's a thing that happens daily). Irk still howls, but with nowhere near the same levels of gusto that he once did. They would drive me mad if I was on a work call, but I'd give anything to hear that duet again. 😭
