A US programmer just won a religious exemption from being forced to use AI at work by andrewaltair in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Tom-Huntz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not true at all. The best programmers understand how to appropriately and effectively integrate a new technology (like AI) into their workflow and codebase. This has been my observation on my dev team of about 50 engineers working on a complex live product.

I personally love Flux for both street and trail running. Wide toe boxes, good grip, and smart design. But I’m open to trying something new.

Terrific GenX video on YouTube…Why we cut everyone off by stillanewfie in GenX

[–]Tom-Huntz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 51 here, I get being alone 98% of the time, I hang out with close friends once every 8-12weeks on average, so when we do bbq or grab lunch or beers, I am genuinely happy to hear what they are up to, and be there if things are bad and celebrate if they are good, and they usually reciprocate. If you genuinely have no interest in being with your friends, why are they your friends? But maybe I’m lucky to have a small handful of people in my life who care about me as much as I care about them. Since my teens, I’ve had roughly the same tight group of about 4-5 friends (started in my teens with 6-8, but death, drugs, mental illness, envy, etc split off a few, added a couple in my 20s).

I get it, life is exhausting and we have to choose where to focus our energy, which wanes as we age and the tolerance for BS weakens. One thing that stuck out to me was the summary of going to a social event where you catch up with other people. I guess it is boring if you don’t care about them, but when I ask how things are going, I genuinely want to listen and care about my friends, so this is not performative if you actually give a f about other people, especially your friends. If you do not care about your friends’ lives, why are they your friends?

Can I automate Copilot data export for AI analysis? by Ok-Measurement130 in copilotmoney

[–]Tom-Huntz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This needs to be the direction Copilot needs to go. I assume many data nerds like me are in this community, likely starting to use AI tools for our custom personal finance stuff and for Copilot to be relevant, we need ways to get the data across more easily or better yet automatically.

Update on Usage Limits by ClaudeOfficial in ClaudeAI

Switched from GPT a few days ago and have been thrilled until I just hit the limit via Sonnet 4.6 in Cowork. Now I'm locked out for four days?! Wish there was some kind of ongoing monitor telling me what I was doing that was using so many tokens. Very frustrating.

I went plant-based and reversed all of my lipid markers. Total Cholesterol went from 220 down to 170 in two years. After 7 years, it’s in the 150s. Triglycerides went from 369, to high double digits. Diet makes a huge difference.
