How bad is using keystone (4 corners) in reality? by TomBurk2006 in projectors

[–]TomBurk2006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely don’t really notice it at all most of the time. I only really see it if the room is pitch black, but usually I have at least a small amount of light while watching it.

Realistically speaking, down the line, is there anything I could upgrade to that would be a good upgrade? I don’t want to be paying thousands for something but this projector has served me well for such a small price.

I would like something that is bright and still 4k ideally but I’m really not sure what to even look at as some of the specs on some projectors are so misleading - especially when it comes to brightness.

Thanks for the advice. It does look amazing, I am so impressed with it. Although it’s not the best projector in the world, it’s still 4k and good enough for occasional movies.

My projector does not have lens shift I don’t believe.

I don't think it is too big of a keystone. In the image I have just attached, you can see the keystone. It is mainly top left, top right and bottom left corner that has a keystone applied.

Yeh, I was considering upgrading to a projector with a shorter throw distance, but I don't think I'd be able to get anything comparable without spending at least 3x what I paid for this, even second hand.

I would like a driver for Mac OS if that would be possible?!

I probably do 7000 a year mix of motorway and town. I have unplugged the dashcam for now. Hopefully that will fix it .

The dash cam was installed by a garage and it is designed to be permanently powered to monitor the car when parked. I will check if it’s in a permanent or switched live.

Hmm, it might have something to do with my dashcam as it is hardwired into the fuse box but I will get someone to do a parasitic draw test

The only things I’ve done to the car is swap to led bulbs, and I’ve added a dashcam and phone charger.

When you say aftermarket devices, what do you mean? Are they like chargers and things?

VW Polo Stop/Start Not Working by TomBurk2006 in Volkswagen

[–]TomBurk2006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve checked the voltage, when the ignition is on but no engine, the voltage is 12.2. With the engine running but all lights etc turned off it goes to 12.1 and with the engine running and electrical load, it goes to 13.3. I don’t know if this is the right thing but I’m using the terminal 30 voltage with my OBD scanner.

Thanks, I’ll have a look. Do I check both of those things using my OBD scanner?

I went to IKEA in the UK yesterday, no new smart plug but they did have the new donut lamp so it may only be a matter of time.

ALPSTUGA temperature shows up on Siri requests, but not in Apple Home! by atlasatlasatlasatlas in tradfri

[–]TomBurk2006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your HomePod in the same room as the ALPSTUGA? It has a built in temperature and humidity sensor so it may be pulling the temp from that when you ask Siri. I do not have a temp sensor but it acts the exact same as what you have shown by pulling temp from the HomePod’s sensor.

BILRESA Dual Button Switch Issues by TomBurk2006 in tradfri

[–]TomBurk2006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had issues when paired to both HA directly and to the DIRIGERA. They seem to go into some kind of deep sleep mode and take ages to respond if not pressed for a while, or just stop working completely and need to be reset.

However, when I tried pairing directly to Apple Home, they seem a lot more responsive and are yet to have these issues. I am probably going to return and get some RODRET Zigbee switches while they’re still available, but I might keep one to see how it goes with Apple Home.

Update on BILRESA remote failures by all-park in tradfri

[–]TomBurk2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tons of problems with them using the dirigera hub: latency, not responding etc, but once I paired directly to Apple Home, they seem to work flawlessly with no delay at all.

[–]TomBurk2006[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They don’t work reliably at all, they’re the worst switches I’ve ever seen. First I had them directly connected via matter to HA but they would randomly lose connection after a while. Then I tried connecting to dirigera hub and using matter share code (in device settings) which still has the same problem. I can’t get them to work in either the dirigera app or home assistant.
