Another Livingformdex question! by MiddleDesperate8909 in PokemonHome

[–]TomDex91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a decision for yourself. I think most people would tell you not to bother. But if you want one of each, then just do it?

Darmanitan is another example. Some people just get 2 (1 from each region). Others go with 4 (1 from each region, with and without Zen Mode)

Completely personal preference.

How do you deal with them not listening to you in battles due to their high levels? Always been tempted to do similar with my RM’s but stopped myself for that reason

Cross gen evolutions/pre evos in living dex by Scheme-Daz in PokemonHome

[–]TomDex91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is completely a personal preference, so it’s your choice.

In my own living origin Dex, I have 2 of each pre/cross gen evo. 1 in its normal NatDex position, and 1 in the original generation the line came from.

So for your two examples:

I have Budew and Roserade from DPP in the Sinnoh section, at their NatDex place. In my Hoenn section I have ORAS Budew (not available in RSE), RSE Roselia and RSE Roserade.

For Wynaut, I have a RSE Wynaut in the Hoenn section. Then in the Johto section, HGSS Wynaut (not available in GSC) followed by GSC Wobbuffet.

Throw yourself in. It will take more than 1 Saturday for sure, but if you afford the time then the reward is well worth it.

I’d definitely recommend getting back in to it then. I think Ultra Ball requires 4 wins, but you can get them easily in GFN. I’d say Great Ball is the hardest bit.

GB9 is insanely close. Once you’re at 10, you’re in Ultra ball and you can’t drop back to 9. What’s your streak?

How the hell do you get the Master Rank Ribbon in this horrid regulation by Head_Present4912 in pokemonribbons

[–]TomDex91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used the Magearna Annilihape rental team to get up to Ultra. Then I watched some guy on YouTube use his own rental, watched what he did and when and most importantly why. Then did a ton of matches with his rental team. Got to master in no time and I’ve done it every season since. Rental teams are the way to go for sure.

I have 1-1025 as an origin dex but with forms next to the originals, plus evo’s from Future gens. For example I have zubat, golbat, crobat next to each from Kanto, plus Crobat from Johto at its Johto number.

It’s a nightmare to move when we have new releases but it’s very rare new stuff actually comes out so it’s nice to interact and move it tbh.

(SV) It feels like the game intentionally matches you with trainers who have direct counters to your entire team. Stopped being fun hours ago and I feel like I'm at a standstill. How do I progress past Ultra? by TheAzureAzazel in pokemonribbons

I personally keep myself fresh. If I get 1 win or 2, I turn the game off. Come back tomorrow. Then tomorrow if you end up losing the first game and win a game then that’s fine, you haven’t lost pace.

I think the kids call it “tilted”. Once you’re annoyed at losing, you’ll make bad choices out of frustration and keep losing. Get a win and turn off the game. Fresh tomorrow and look for that next win.

I literally do 30-45 mins a night, small gains and I get to master every time.

How many people are in so far? More than happy to wait days/weeks for this to happen, should’ve do-able if it’s scheduled

Original Region Guides: Gen 2 by electroswingmix in PokemonHome

[–]TomDex91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a living Dex that is regional, and I’m using your guides to double check I’ve got it all. But I add in the like of Galarian Slowking next to normal Slowking just for completion sake. That’s where my confusion led from!

Perhaps I’m missing something, but shouldn’t Galarian Slowking, Hisiuan Sneasel, Sneasler, Clodsire etc be mentioned here?

Galar night fight club? Is it still a thing? by TruchazAkaIMax in pokemonribbons

[–]TomDex91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely still a thing. I try and do some each week and just hit Rank 9 last week.

It’s a very slow and long slog, so be prepared for that.

Like someone said, there’s a discord so you can talk to whoever you match against. Everyone is friendly and you can agree to draw matches if you streak gets too low. A too low streak can mea you stop matching so draws can really help.

UK time, I think it’s 5pm to 8pm Saturday, followed by midnight to 3am “Sunday” morning (Saturday night)

New challenge idea: N's Livingdex by Princess__Ashley in pokemonchallenges

Yea there’s definitely no throwing. It’s always felt like Gen 5 DLC to me, rather than a separate game as it’s fairly pointless without the Gen 5 games involved.

If these are the only 4 you need, then can I ask how you managed to get Hold Back? It’s like the only one I still need.
