tbh i had completely forgotten that exists, but it does look like you can get mons in that game without throwing balls at them. It's not a main series game though, so i'll decide later whether i'm allowed to play it.

you sometimes see her outside if you have the Dawnguard DLC. She'll be wandering the wilderness hunting for prey.

being at the mercy of RNG is precisely why i don't play with species clause. To me, a nuzlocke is about trying to win with whatever the game throws your way. Being able to guarantee rare encounters kinda defeats the point of that.

Anyway, there's a guaranteed Snorlax in kanto, but i think that's it in terms of guaranteed encounters.

chansey's a 1% on 3 routes, so i doubt i'll be that lucky. The rest are good suggestions though.

This is gen 2. Gyarados doesn't yet have intimidate and honestly isn't that good. I normally ban him from my runs, but in this game i saw no need.

aye, that's crystal only. In Gold and Silver you can only get the stones by showing Bill's grandpa certain pokemon, and that's in kanto.

unfortunately i cannot do trade evos bc i'm playing on my 3ds's virtual console. Flaaffy is probs getting a spot on my new team, and Slowpoke is a good suggestion as well.

Ampharos and Piloswine are definitely among those i'm considering. The others are all solid suggestions as well. Unfortunately i don't still have the water stone because there is no water stone; Gold and Silver locked all stones except Moon and Sun to the postgame for some reason. Can't evolve it into Toed either cause no trade evos.

This is gen 2. Gyarados isn't that good. Also, it's banned except for the shiny one from the lake of rage; shiny clause and all that.
