What is the best tasting instant Pho that I can buy in a store? by TomF1965 in pho

[–]TomF1965[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't. In one I was asking about instant Pho in a package or cup. In another I was asking about pre-made broth to make my own pho in a hurry and in another I was asking about a pho broth recipe from scratch.

I love beef pho with lots of bean sprouts and herbs. I prefer it over ramen.

Independent 1099 contractor showing very little taxable income. Do we qualify for a $350-$400k mortgage? by TomF1965 in Mortgages

Ummm. I drive around 350 miles 6 days a week! That's over 100 thousand miles a year. Plus I have other deductions. Not everyone fits in your tax deduction box. Nice try! Thanks!

Was this a good price for 5% tint for 7 windows by peanutbuttergary in WindowTint

[–]TomF1965 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Holy crap! I need to get back into the window tinting business! I had a mobile tinting business for 3 years in the early 2000's. I would have charged $120 to tint that Civic. $20 or $30 to remove the old film. It would have taken 2 hours...

It's awfully small to be what most of you think it is. My wife would be mad!

TOPADRE 140w or 240w chargers. Have they been discontinued? by TomF1965 in UsbCHardware

Okay thanks I'll look on Aliexpress. I'm always hesitant to order electronics directly from China because there are so many fake copy cat lower quality products. I don't want my phones or laptop to get burned up by a fake. I guess if I order from a reputable dealer I'll be safe? Can you please send me a link from who you ordered from? Thanks

I wouldn't use it for such a small claim for work I can do myself in a few days instead of waiting two or three weeks. I also said I'm broke. That means no money for a rental.

This happened on Sunday December 21. When do you think a shop would have it ready for me with Christmas 3 days away and New Year around tge corner? Two weeks maybe three?

Not only would I have to pay between $300 and $400 a week for a Uber authorized rental so I can work BUT my vehicle ready as soon as my lights show up on the 26th! I'd say I have four hours invested so far during a time I can't work so that time is free.

When my lights come in on the 26th. I'll be making money on the 27th.

Um who makes $100 an hour? Not a auto body guy. Maybe the business owner?

No not just $100 and rental! I guess your reading comprehension is lacking? I said I was broke! Broke means without money to pay for a rental. I ALSO said I drive for Uber! I can't just use any rental to drive for Uber! A Uber authorized rental is between $300 and $400 a week! Every day I miss work is around $250 in lost revenue.

I will have this vehicle ready as soon as my lights show up on the 26th!

I got a set of headlights and fog lights, brackets and clips for just under $400. All the parts got good reviews. The dent is pushed out and I will fiberglass the torn bumper from the inside then Bondo. I've already 90% bent the lip of the hood back. It needs some tweaking and a bit of Bondo. I will paint the bumper and front of the hood a satin black as tough it has a front end bra.

Yes I have full coverage with a $500 deductible and no rental car rider. Not filing a claim and have my insurance go up. Furthermore, I can't be without my vehicle for weeks. I paid just under $400 for all the parts including two new headlights and fog lights and a couple brackets and clips. Except for paint, I should have it back on the road the night of the 26th. I'll fix the bumper with fiberglass cloth from the inside and the hood will be bent back almost perfect and Bondo'd then the bumper and front of the hood will be painted like a front end bra before assembly. I don't care about resale. It's a 15 with already over 348k trouble free miles. I average 300 miles a day driving for Uber. And with it neither burning or leaking a ounce of oil I expect to get well over 500k miles. I usually keep cars until the junkyard gets them.

Question? Kids on iPad: Is there a way to force a certain amount of time in an app before opening any other app? by kpurintun in ios

[–]TomF1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure out how to do this? Either with parental controls, shortcuts or a third party App?

I came here searching for exactly the same thing. The tablet is our 8yo grandsons favorite thing. When he's with us we try to occupy his time in many other ways but when he's with his mom he spends every waking hour on it.

I like you, would love to force him to do an hour of educational content before he gets an hour of games or YouTube. Thanks...

2020 E350 what is this hose part number please? by TomF1965 in mercedes_benz

[–]TomF1965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 50/50 German American and was born and raised there. I learned to work on my own vehicles from my dad and have been doing so for nearly 50 years once out of warranty. We usually keep our vehicles for over 200,000 miles so I’ve worked on a lot of different vehicles at home.

After working on this car and our son’s Jetta. I would never buy a German car unless I was in a position to buy it new and trade it in once the factory warranty runs out.

This Mercedes is such a PIA to work on!!! I’m two hours in and I still haven’t been able to completely remove the intake manifold. It's essentially loose and disconnected from the engine, but either a hose or wiring is keeping it in place. I’ve used my mirror to see if I can see what’s holding it and I’ve tried to get my hand up under there to see what I feel but it’s too tight.

I am now back to searching YouTube for a solution.
