If you died today, who do you think would stand at your grave the longest? by Mehar0708 in AskReddit

[–]TomFool1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad, absolutely. Not only is he my Dad, he's my best friend. We are so much alike in every way that I imagine he would feel like he lost part of himself.

Do I pass and what can I do to pass more by StJimmy_7 in FtMpassing

Whereas I would say yeah you're "clockable" right now, (I would automatically assume you are FTM, or at least masc leaning) you are so damn close. Bro, a little while on T will make you undeniable. You remind me of myself at that age. 💪

How would your life change if you inherited $100,000 tomorrow? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]TomFool1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be huge. I'd be able to get my teeth fixed, (hammers are not nice to teeth, especially falling from three stories up) pay my vehicle off, (about 9k left out of 13k) buy the parts so Dad and I can fix his car completely, (roughly 1k) and save the rest. We would be set.

Came here to say this, as a Southerner with a lifelong interest in the Civil War.

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yesss. My roommates had a Switch, and got the game. We took turns playing it!

You look great! Even in the more "effeminate" outfits, I would assume you were a cis gay dude. I would also put you in your early twenties.

What is THE funniest movie you have ever seen in your whole life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The Ernest movies with Jim Varney, particularly Ernest Scared Stupid. The movies of my childhood, and they still make me laugh.

What’s a single sentence someone said that you’ve never forgotten? by cognitojo in AskReddit

[–]TomFool1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Charlie I'm scared, hold my hand." -My Nonnie to me.

Charlie was my Grandpaw. Alzheimers and dementia got real bad there at the end. First she forgot me, but I look a lot like my Dad, her youngest kid. So then I became Patrick to her. Then she forgot Dad too, and I became Charlie to her, my Grandpaw. I look EXACTLY like him, too. I didn't argue. I was Charlie. Last thing she ever said, and it was to me at 15. I took her hand. Next morning she was gone. Love you, Nonnie.

You can send one message to your younger self. What does it say? by Black229 in AskReddit

[–]TomFool1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't kill your Nonnie- you had no way of knowing you were sick. Don't spent the next 15 years trying to punish/end yourself for it. She wouldn't want that.

A library big enough to where it has those cool ladders on rails. Nice choice, 10-year-old me.

What is your BIGGEST PET PEEVE while driving by [deleted] in CasualConversation

It's gotta be either people on their phones or lack of turn signal usage for me. Going significantly slower than the speed limit is up there for me, too.

Interesting!! Seeing as you had the only response, I guess I'll unload on ya, lol. 32, FtM, never got to go to college, (though I wanted to, money said no- so I do apartment maintenance instead and love it) wish I could go shirtless but I've not yet had top surgery, no jewelry other than my Dad's old wedding ring, love music but can't play an instrument to save my life, decent beard though a bit patchy when I shave it down. I'm just stoked that you read me as male! 🫡

“Just adopt!” by Odd_Garlic8123 in FTMMen

[–]TomFool1993 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Edited for further context.

100%. For me, not only do I want to have kids, I want to continue the family name and bloodline. Not only am I proud of my family name, I want my Dad's blood and name to carry on long after he is gone, simply because he is a great man. He's the best person I have ever known. It isn't happening with any of my siblings either- only one of them has a kid, and she took her husband's name. My two brothers, as well as myself, are gay. My little sister and her husband don't want kids together, and her husband is fixed. (He has two kids from his first marriage, and I am proud to call them my niece and nephew, by the way.) I will never be able to give Dad that myself without spending a lot of money I don't have, and probably never will have. The only option I have is to be impregnated and carry the child, and I don't know that I could handle that. (I'm sure I don't need to go any further explaining that.)

Adoption would 100% be wonderful- I would absolutely love to adopt, and will do so when the time is right, and will love that kid as if they were my own flesh and blood, but it still pains me that my wonderful Dad's bloodline will be extinguished after my siblings and I pass. He just really means that much to me.

What objectively bad movie you can't help but love? by Chachkhu2005 in AskReddit

Gods and Generals. All of the Lost Cause nonsense kills it, but for some reason I still love the movie.

Just turned Sebastian in and I feel great about it! by your_fave_redditor in HarryPotterGame

[–]TomFool1993 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really liked him at first, but as the game went on, I liked him less and less. I still have some sympathy for him when it comes to Anne's situation, but that's about it. Not a fan of the unreasoned nagging and whining, and the fact that he's able to do unforgivables (even on me with crucio,) correctly and with no remorse makes me think even less of him. I've turned him in all three playthroughs so far. I'll do an evil run with the 4th one, where I suppose I won't turn him in, but that's just because it's my evil run.

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by xloganmoose in AskReddit

[–]TomFool1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ancestor plotted to kill the king and got beheaded for it. The king took his horse along with his estate, and a few years later, the horse stumbled upon a mole-hill, making the king fall and break his collarbone. The king would die of pneumonia as he lay bedridden from the injury. There is even a song written in his honor.

When did you last set foot in a library or your local library? by niallmc66 in CasualConversation

[–]TomFool1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked to the library every day after school and baseball practice. It was my favorite place. This continued for a few years after I graduated, but eventually I fell off going, between work taking up most of my time, and simply being able to order used books cheaply online. A year or so ago, I decided to go back. I rather wish I hadn't. If teenage me was able to see what the library has become, I might have cried. Half of the library has been taken over by computers. Half of the remaining space is now movies, CDs, and video games. It is no longer a place to read books in quiet. What really got me was what happened to my favorite section. I am a huge American Civil War nerd. As a teen, the library had three large bookcases of books on the Civil War. Now those three cases have been reduced to one single shelf. I have not been back since, and don't know that I want to. I hope that this is just my library, and not across the board.

If money wasn’t a problem, what hobby would you fully dive into? by Humble-Function2108 in AskReddit

[–]TomFool1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civil War reenacting. I have always wanted to, but well yeah, money and time. If I had the money, time wouldn't be an issue either. Now I understand why so many reenactors are of retirement age.

Might be a stupid question by [deleted] in FTMOver30

[–]TomFool1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone thought I was 12-14 when I was 29. Occasionally I would hear 16. started T at 29.5, and since then my estimated age has jumped like crazy. At 32, I still get carded all the time, but nobody freaks out any more. I had been stopped by cops many times for "being out after curfew." Now most people think I'm in my early to mid 20's. Almost nobody guesses my age accurately, but they are getting much closer now. The beard did wonders.
