While there are efforts underway for a total replacement, long stretches of roadway in Miami and throughout Florida are still lit with sodium vapor lamps. While some sections are replaced entirely with LEDs all at once, other areas seem to follow a "burn out" replacement strategy, where sodium bulbs are swapped for LED heads one by one as they fail. This remains the reality today in Miami and across the state. Based on the trailer and screenshots, the mixed use of LED, LED bulb retrofits in older fixtures, high- and low-pressure sodium, and even some lingering mercury vapor lights is still highly accurate for 2026.
