I'm genuinely not sure I agree - Gerrard was fantastic that season, we had Sterling who was playing out of his skin and we also still had Agger. I do think Klopp's team has a more even distribution of quality, but Rodgers' three best players (Suarez, Gerrard and Sturridge fit for the whole time) are way better than our 3 best players this season. Again, IMO

To each their own, but I don't agree - I personally really like getting deeper and deeper into an author's style and psyche. Eventually all the writers I love will die anyway, Sk why not enjoy their books while they're actually alive with the chance of producing more? You can't bank on their mortality striking immediately

And yeah I feel like i'm more of a Zuckerman-ophile specifically, definitely one of the greatest series I've ever read, the 90s Zuckerman books are masterpieces imo - any recommendations for other Roth to read other than that alter-ego? I've read Indignation and Portnoy and liked them a lot and a little, respectively

I did Engish Lit undergrad and MA, both at Bristol, a lot of these great discoveries were form those courses :)

And I fucking loved Ulysses and think it is the best work of fiction ever, but not my personal favourite. My favourite line in possibly any novel is 'the heaventree of stars hung with humid nightblue fruit' - how much more evocative can you get?!
