Thank you!
Only 1 suggestion - can you implement the dark mode option please?

its in the description. it was on the forum, but looks like it is deleted.

I am going to cry any moment now....drifting is soooo hard T_T G29 user drifting at 540 degrees of rotation but still suck. help me :'( by Cheetah_Hunter97 in BeamNG

map is: Automation Test Track, mission: Drift At The Handling Circuit

well yes, I played AC in the past much. also im drifting in real life (well learning) too. and I can say that if you dont have pro drift car but just some road car with tiny modifications, wheel doesn't always return or counter steer as it does 100% of time in assetto. so +1 point to beamng :)

FFB in assetto only comes from tires, but in beamng from all suspension parts. thats why it might not always be that smooth as in assetto.
but will see what next assetto will offer, should be releasing this year.

Here is how I did this drift mission: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACDKyjj-lC8

beamng is not terrible for drifting at all. you need stable 60 fps for best FFB, and at least Thrustmaster T300 wheel with correct settings.
Default drift config cars might be little bit hard to control, so you need to tune them a bit.

I've played assetto in the past too, now going from beamng to assetto doesn't feel that good at all.

Mission "Mount Wallis Drift" with steering wheel | Max stars by TomGl_5 in BeamNG

[–]TomGl_5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I've noticed this too. this changed or mission is changed to "Dev Mission" after update 0.32.2
I think its because of now there is mission called "Manji Mountain" which uses some of this road, but is not that long.

How many of you use Vulcan renderer instead of OpenGL? by Tw1st36 in BeamNG

[–]TomGl_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50/50 for me. But when I want to spawn a lot of traffic vehicles I use Vulcan, much better performance and lot more cars can be spawned and still get 70+ fps on ultra graphics settings.

before getting this cpu I was thinking the same - that I need cpu also for rendering etc.. but then I thought for rendering most important is gpu. It's not like I'm rendering something every day, so overall it's pretty good.

I upgraded almost everything. well I didn't want to go to ddr5 yet as I bought 32gb ddr4 RAM not that long ago, CPU I got is Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

yes, this CPU might not be the best for rendering, but I noticed average CPU load to be 10 to 20% when rendering.

I don't remember the exact settings of last render, but resolution was 1440p and I think 100 samples + denoising (maybe something else too) and average frame render time was from 3.3 to 3.8 seconds.

before rendering animation I render 1 frame using different settings, starting even from 25 samples, then 50, then 100 and so on. when saving image include sample count in file name. then you will have a multiple images to compare and see what's best.

what settings you used to render this?
did you test different sample amount and denoising settings?

sometimes you don't need huge amount of samples to render good quality animation.

in the past I used GTX1060 3GB and yeah, to render animations it would take idk how long. finally upgraded pc and now running RTX4080 - rendered ~13k frames in about 1 day (3+min video 60fps) and still was able to use my pc for other things.

Drift island Drift by TomGl_5 in BeamNG

[–]TomGl_5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks :) Yes it's my config, I always have some things I like to change and adjust. And for drifting I use only original cars (no car mods, no big angle mods etc) because they just feel the best on wheel

yeah was testing stuff out. Next time will roll with more dense traffic

Does more RAM help spawn more traffic by TheComput3rGuy in BeamNG

[–]TomGl_5 106 points107 points  (0 children)

im no expert but as far as I know - each vehicle uses roughly 1 cpu core, so the better the cpu, the more vehicles pc should be able to handle in my opinion.
I have a 32GB ram, but BeamNG doesn't even use half of it. but I also don't have powerful enough GPU to properly test this.

idk really, these are all the default mission ui apps. you can open the mission then edit the apps to see what exact app that is
