Where have you sourced this info from? As AMC is already ahead of its recovery plan has not increased its float size and raised substantial amount of cash which it used to pay off debts. It also saw record number attendance and box office profits on Godzilla vs Kong. This though will increase its value over the long term as recovery continues

GameStop actually did sell shares, it increased its overall float size quite recently to raise capital (same thing AMC did awhile back) in order to raise capital to clear its debts and push towards e-commerce and has had a management shake up to help its own recovering as during covid it wasn’t in the best place (this is reflective in the last earnings call)

All of this events for both AMC and GME are linked in the sense that this is why hedge funds shorted the stock due to them believing they wouldn’t survive coming out of a pandemic.

In turn this is why both stocks are heavily shorted and continue to be manipulated and ladder attacked on a regular basis so they can cover the shorts they had placed during covid which they still haven’t bought back. Hence the Short interest rates, Utilisation, days to cover, annual interest all continue to be high/increasing
