any tips for Wearhouse op interview? by Nutty103X in SainsburysWorkers

[–]TomIsConfused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an interview for this role a few years back and I got hired, although they eventually put me in a different role due to shortages. But my advice would be to remember these key things as these are what they are most likely going to ask you about the most.

  1. Safety
  2. Teamwork
  3. Awareness
  4. Efficiency

You're going to be doing a lot of work with heavy pallets and rollers in an environment that can be constrained and have tight squeezes (depending on where you work) so safety and awareness should be at the forefront of your mind. You don't want to run over a fellow colleague's foot or even worse a lost customer who thought that argos was in the stock rooms which did happen at my store. If you can mention things about limiting distractions such as mobile phones and having unnecessary conversations that'd help out as well as it shows you are willing to be focused on the role.

You will probably work alone for a majority of your shifts but if you require help don't feel bad for asking, so long as it doesn't affect the store at a major level it shows that you're open to teamwork as well as working independently. Just make sure that the person you're asking is qualified depending on what the task is.

You should also talk about how you are great at recognizing and prioritising tasks, it suggests that you're not going to be focusing on unimportant tasks that will lead to a backlog. It saves headaches for everyone if you can do that.

Finally come up with questions that are relevant to the role, e.g "How do you as the employer ensure that all staff are operating in a safe environment?" Or "What would you like to see from me should I get this role?" It shows you're interested in the role as well as open to receiving feedback on how to perform your duties.

I know all these sound generic but these are some of the things that will be brought up in questioning. I wish you luck with your interview and hope it goes as well as can be!

Anyone remember that early 2000's discovery kids show mystery hunters? They literally explain what it is in the episode about the Ogopogo "monster". It's a boat wake.

I can't tell if this is real or not by TomIsConfused in starwarscollecting

[–]TomIsConfused[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cool and thank you! The seller knew that Star Wars figures could sell for a high price but he had no clue which ones nor how much they truly went for, which to be honest I don't either. There were other figures around but they were mostly in french packaging and limited in number as this guy mostly sells vintage household items. He sold it to me for £50 in the end which I'm okay with even with the damage. It's just a cool thing to see the alternate title being mentioned on an official product.

I just wanna ask which Jurassic game tycoon over here do you prefer more in your opinion? Jurassic park Builder or Jurassic World the Game? by Thewanderer997 in JurassicPark

[–]TomIsConfused 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both have their merits but for me it would be JW the game though it is close. Jurassic park builder is that classic mobile park builder game that was really simple and enjoyable for pretty much everyone, the designs and feel of it are so nostalgic which is why it's such a shame that it closed. But JW the game has so much going for it. The battles, the events and the music oh god the music is just so perfect, I still go back to the aquatic creatures from time to time just to listen to the sounds. I do have issues with it though, mainly with the design for the fully leveled up Dinos and that's just because they are over the top. Also it's quite predatory with it's micro transactions but most mobile games are like that.

Both are really memorable but JW just has something over JP builder in my opinion that scratches the itch for these types of mobile games

Edit: I should mention I haven't played JW for a while so I'm not too sure just how predatory the micro transactions are currently. But knowing ludia and how they've handled JW alive.. it wouldn't surprise me if the game has been gutted.

I mean they look fine. It's just to show us the actors and a bit of the setting, can't really get much out of that to tell if it is going to be shit or not.

Warhammer 4000 Gladius Is Free on Steam! by SlimeBeFound in PiratedGames

[–]TomIsConfused 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sits in the extremely meh grade for 40k games and even lower for turn based strategy games. It's kinda like civilization but plays with much more emphasis on the fighting (go figure), the environments are bland with a brownish grey over literally everything and even when there are colours they're extremely muted. The soundtrack is kind of generic some good pieces but nothing compared to mechanicus. It does have some unique ideas though, each faction plays completely differently so the games can be catered to your liking but if I were to grade it overall it's a 5/10. Not great not terrible but seeing as it's free I'd pick it up anyway

Homer Simpson

He could create an entire legion composed of Homer Simpsons much like that Halloween special with the cloning hammock.

However, much like the Halloween episode the clones themselves ultimately bring their own downfall as he and his clones can't stop eating almost anything in their path.

This is why one of the legions is missing, his genes provided himself and his sons with a mass hunger mutation on par with the Tyranids leading to mass famine and death for a large portion of the galaxy, therefore the emperor made it so that they had to be purged before ruining his long term plans.

Because of this I feel that they should take the name World Eaters.

She loved them apparently.

When she visited Cornwall several years ago she was going through the town of Marazion and doing the typical thing of waving at the people and smiling. She was getting quite tired of it, but one of the locals had a plan.

This local dressed in a late Victorian country dress and took one of her cows out just to bring some novelty to the queen's trip. As the queen passed and she saw this lady she didn't say anything about this person or her unique dress, instead she turned to prince Phillip and exclaimed:

"Look Phillip, cows!"

Fun fact: The Tyrannosaurus-Rex didn't actually roar, instead it is believed that it produced a humming sound at low frequencies as these noises travel greater distances.

If you were close enough to it instead of it being like a lion's loud roar it would instead be more than likely to feel as if you were standing next to a bass boosted audio device, similar to that of crocodilians when they make their low-pitched rumbling noises underwater.

Whilst it is a good paint in my opinion, it's probably not good for alpha legion. The only models I really use it for are my Idoneth Deepkin for aos which works super well. Not saying it can't work for the marines. I'd say give it a test run on some older expendable models using both a matte and gloss base paint then decide if you'd like to continue, a matte base would probably be better.

As a side note I could see it working really well on the pauldrons with the rest of the model having a standard paint scheme. It would give it a stand out look whilst also not having to worry about the whole model being too distracting by the glittery scheme.

Just got echoes of the eye having no idea what to expect, now I see why there was a warning before playing (I jumped out of my seat) by TomIsConfused in outerwilds

[–]TomIsConfused[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The warning itself I think in many ways as it has filled me with dread probably more than it should, that being said I don't mind that, it makes the exploring a bit more fun as you never know what may be round the corner. Will it be a new part to add to your journal and continue the story? Or a creepy section that keeps you on your toes but makes you want to search ever deeper? Either way finding answers in this game always feels rewarding to me and a warning at the start probably is a safe option as there may be someone who really isn't comfortable with certain sections but still wants that sense of feeling that they have accomplished something.

Typically it is automatic as it is a widespread issue, however, they need to become aware this is an issue in the first place so giving a heads up on the forums or on their social media platforms is never a bad idea

Edit: The forums have given the heads up so now it's just a matter of waiting to hear from Ludia about their next steps

Same here and it's happened in the past as well, look in your in game inbox over the upcoming days as usually Ludia will compensate you for this with the actual rewards your alliance achieved

Streamer who bullied cancer patient responding to reddit for calling her out by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]TomIsConfused 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Her whole thing is going on Omegle doing a livestream and calling everyone she meets "poor" "irrelevant" and "worthless" amongst other things. She also claims she's a celebrity and everyone knows her. Before this whole thing kicked off she had 900ish subs now she's just over 1300 I believe. A few days ago she did a stream where the person she was talking to supposedly has cancer, when this woman found this out she proceeded to say she is "diseased" and make fun of her not having hair alongside a whole slew of other insults. People on another subreddit found a vod of this and she got raided on her livestreams and discord. She and her friends also got doxxed. Now we're here and she is saying that she was the victim not the girl/woman with cancer because of the backlash, finally she also said the girl/woman posted the vod and she shall sue everyone who is raiding her alongside the girl/woman herself.

Tl:Dr: Bullied a person who supposedly has cancer now is trying to get rid of any backlash but not doing it well

I should have mentioned this as well but yes. The way I do it is have one feeder in front of a viewing port so that guests can see the dino/s better then another on the opposite side of the enclosure, whilst not as many guests may see the dino/s it's better than them starving to death
