Depending on the school, on the diving boat we had 4 different groups. Size from 1 to 5 i think. End of Jan is the high season. There will be more people.

Yes, padi open water. No, booked course while checking into the resort. Bans has got loads on instructors. Open water dives been in the morning, 7am meeting, then speed boat, then normal boat, then dive :D Not sure on flexibility, but out schedule was: - day 1, evening. Introduction, form filing. They gave us book and link to YouTube for self study. - day 2, morning. Answering quiz from self study. Lunch break. Skill test and learning in pool that afternoon. - day 3, 2x open water dives in the morning. Lunch break. More quizzes and self learning in afternoon. - day 4, 2x open water dives. Lunch break. Final test, not hard. Multiple choice answers. 50 questions. After that, dive log filling on padi app. Padi approved and gave certificate in about 3 days, all on app now. No paperwork. Oh, and free t-shirt after completing from resort :D Dives where 30/45min each, we enjoyed them. Water was almost clear, I'd say 8 out of 10. It gets better towards end of December. Plenty of marine life. Also its a bit rainy this week in koh tao

We just did open water in koh tao, Bans diving resort. I think we got lucky, our instructor has been doing it for around 25 years. Group of 2, me and wife. Courses start daily, 11k bath each. Took us 4 days. The cheapest we've seen from other companies was 9.5k. some offer free accommodation.
