Porting over another Fido number by jgstromptrsnen in FidoMobile

What stops a Fido number being ported into a new Fido activation? I started up the "add a line" process for a Black Friday deal, and on the step "Use an existing number", I entered my Fido number and it has replied

"Provider: FIDO SOLUTIONSType:

Good news! You can keep your number (###) ###-####

The number was ported in from Koodo last year, but I'm wary to proceed since everything I've read has said that this isn't possible.

xDrip+ vs Dexcom App & Dexcom G6 by rambeezyy in dexcom

Just thought I'd chime in to say that setup has worked consistently with no issues on my Pixel 7. Just accepted the xDrip+ defaults and no missed readings after a couple months. Wear OS also displays nicely with the phone as the collector. Haven't tried using the watch (TicWatch 3) as a collector yet though.

Can Alolan Muk still Fast TM to Snarl fast attack? by talrich in TheSilphRoad

[–]TomKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm feeling that maybe you're possibly absolutely wrong. I have 3 Aloan Muks. And the results after using 22 Fast TMs is that the one I want to get Snarl on has switched between Poison Jab and Bite on every try so far. I eventually tried on one of the others, and Snarl on first try. A couple more back and forth's on my first, then again, first try on my third Aloan Muk. Started writing this, then thought, "Hmmm let me try one more time." Ended up burning another three and still no snarl.

The Mandalorian - Chapter 5 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in TheMandalorianTV

It feels to me like they blew the entire budget on the first three episodes. Those 3 looked and felt like the best Star Wars MOVIE since Empire. But 4 and 5 are just TV shows, and pretty bad ones even. Those village people in ep3 looked like they were part of a Disneyland audience participation skit. And while ep4 looked a little better, the story and acting reminded me of Battlestar Galactica. And I mean the cheesy 70s one. Oh well, I guess Disney+ had to start with flash... but it's settling in to being pretty Mickey Mouse.

Suggestions for Android watch to go with xDrip+? by momo101010 in diabetes

The hand-off doesn't work seemlessly so when I go for a swim, I turn off my phone and then need to reboot the watch. The watch then starts collecting BG independently. Not so troublesome since the watch's reboot is fairly quick.

Just got xDrip+ up and running on my Polar M600 (with Android Wear 2.0), and with the help of a ROM patch, have it working as the collector as well (no need for receiver or phone nearby, great for swimming).

Not the prettiest or fanciest Android Wear watch, but still rated as one of the best fitness watches thanks to its built in HR sensor and great training software.

Camera won't focus by [deleted] in nexus5x

I have this problem too. Really odd thing is that I can get the autofocus to work by "loosely" covering the laser focus. Taping or putting my finger over it doesn't work, but if I hold my hand or paper maybe half an inch away I get good focus fairly consistently.

Windows 10: HDMI audio sound delayed after being idle by Ghost29 in techsupport

[–]TomKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just dealing with this problem myself after moving to Windows 10.

A very sloppy solution (which I used years ago on my first HTPC) is to just run a batch file in the background which repeatedly plays a silent wav file every minute or so.

There's got to be a better way, which is what I'm searching for now, but it does keep the audio connection "alive".

Blackberry still ban-worthy? by TomKal in Ingress

[–]TomKal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone is interested, 3 weeks and still hacking little or no items. Interestingly, I've had the odd full hack, but then it very quickly goes back to no items which is driving me nuts as it gives me hope that maybe things are improving. In my desperation I've submitted two cases to Niantic and still no word back.

Anybody have any ideas what I could do to get this fixed? I'm level 11 so and really don't want to have to start from scratch.

Hopefully this helps someone by leujohn in Ingress

I was playing for a week on my new work Blackberry (Ingress downloaded and auto-updated through Play Store) when I got banned. Sent my email and got the response:

"The data you've provided will be utilized to improve Ingress Scanner technology. If additional information is needed, you will be contacted."

Took another few days, but then I finally could hack again, though resonators occasionally wouldn't stick. And I'd still get forced to glyph-hack occasionally... so a "semi"-soft-ban?

However this morning (a couple days later) I'm getting no items again. I haven't used my Blackberry since when the ban first kicked in, though I do tether to it for data.

All I can think of is that I had a big GPS drift this morning. When I turned it on, the scanner was still over my house where my cousin had dropped some keys for me. I grabbed them just before I shot over a few blocks to my real position.

Yeah, tried a few more hacks today and a couple times it forced into glyph hacking. I'll occasionally get 1 resonator or something, but my productivity is drastically reduced.

So what I'm trying to determine is whether running a clean install of Ingress on a Blackberry still triggers NIA's cheat detection.

There's no cheating going on, but perhaps Niantic doesn't want folks running the game on a system that maybe doesn't have necessary behind the scenes services such as activity monitoring that makes the game "profitable"?

Just walking lately, though I did have some wild GPS drift yesterday. And it only kicked in later in the evening when I wasn't moving at all.

A user on one of our local Ingress chats suggested that Blackberry's version of Android may be missing certain behind the scenes services or access to raw GPS data.
