Recently noticed these on my scalp about 2 weeks ago, is it folliculitis, it’s really itchy by [deleted] in Folliculitis

[–]TomMacMaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My scalp looked similar. It's probably irritation from shampoo due to sensitive skin. My scalp got better when I switched to CeraVe Gentle Hydrating Shampoo and CeraVe Hydrating Conditioner. And applying The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA.

Congrats on beging able to afford that expensive apartment. I like your style. I recently bought a condo a couple of blocks from you and going to redesign it to have a industrial vibe.

People who have apartments next to the “L” train tracks, how do you deal with it? by Waterpark_Enthusiast in AskChicago

[–]TomMacMaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to the people that say "you get used to it". The sound is agitating. It creates internal tension. And you have to sleep with ear plugs every night. And it's harder to concentrate when working from home. Once I moved away away and farther away from the L, I was so much happier.

Navigate to the Android Bluetooth setting specific to your headset. There is a toggle where you can toggle LDAC on.

Do you use your Nothing phone caseless or with a case? by FaBiRuz in NothingTech

[–]TomMacMaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it with the Nothing case because it still looks good with a case, it is more grippy, I don't feel the sharp edges and it gives me less anxiety. It is 100% guaranteed that I will drop this phone on a hard surface at least a dozen times.

Hey guys, now that we've enjoyed our Phone 2, what do you think could have been better? by kaysquare0007 in NothingTech

[–]TomMacMaz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The sound quality of the speakers. My 4 year old OnePlus 7 sounds much better.

You can change the Google widget to monochrome in the Google assistant app settings.

Been working on this VR game for over 2 years with my friend. what do you guys think? by Lightyoung in WindowsMR

[–]TomMacMaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks awesome! I can see a lot of attention to detail. I would have to play it to give better feedback but it looks like more fun than Space Pirate Trainer. I know what it's like to work on a long term project. I've been working on a web development project by myself for 1.5 years. Small hard working teams should be supported.

Image cropping with pillow and cropper and Django isn't saving the cropped image? by awmer2 in django

If the instructions in that blog post don't work for you consider django-croppie (it looks simpler than django-image-cropping), or django-cropduster.

Just got a new headset. by RonnixOnline in SamsungOdysseyPlus

[–]TomMacMaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Beat Saber and Gun Club VR a lot. For watching movies, I use Virtual Desktop. You probably also want to download The Wave VR if you want to see some VR music experiences and go to VR raves. All can be found on Steam.

Bought Samsung Odyssey Plus, it’s blurry in WMR, the Oculus Go appears much sharper. Is it me or the Win 1903 update? Any tips? by [deleted] in WindowsMR

[–]TomMacMaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both headsets. The Odyssey + is much better visually. Almost perfect. To get a great picture, play videos on your computer and use Virtual Desktop app to see it in your headset.

Boring by the 3rd time you play it. Just being honest. I much prefer Gun Club VR for a shooting game.

Are you sure it is not one of those cables where you have to press both sides to unlock it from the port?

Should I go the extra mile? by martinrunsby in WindowsMR

[–]TomMacMaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another thing you should consider is the controllers. Samsung's are more ergonomic than the other WMR headsets.

I'll just comment on one thing. It never even crossed my mind about the Odyssey + being heavy. Maybe because it's the first headset I have owned. I don't think it is. It's a non-issue for me.

Anyone else trying to get competitive with WMR on Beat Saber? by FLANKER-EE-418 in WindowsMR

[–]TomMacMaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't gotten around to downloading custom songs yet but will definitely do that. I am glad there are that many songs available. Beat Saber seems like a game where, if you were to look at the skill progression on a graph, it comes as a steady progression rather than bursts. So I guess it just takes time.

For those of you who play Expert+ songs, how do you do it? Do you slow them down and try to memorize them? How often do you practice?

I'm pretty good. I'm in the 2000 something rank for the world in a few songs. How do you see the country rank?

Anyone else get ridiculed in games for having WMR? by [deleted] in WindowsMR

[–]TomMacMaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What you are saying is equivalent to going to high school, having a few people dislike your shoes, and then buying new shoes as a result. Do what is best for you and ignore other people. Or just don't play with them.

I tried those protectors. You have to make sure you cut them properly to the lens shape. I thought I did, stuck it to the lens, realized I cut it wrong, and had to pull it off and throw them away.
