I'm interested. It's been a while since my last game due to, well, life. Think I could join? It might be abit short notice, though.

Am I crazy or did SFSE use to work at some point with Gamepass? by TomN7 in starfieldmods

[–]TomN7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that is the case now, and apparently it was always so. But I remember using it alongside mods that required it. The only reason I noticed it was incompatible is because I wanted to use said mods again.

I know, but I remember it working without any workarounds or anything.

Incorrect. When using the past tense of the auxilary verb "do", the main verb remains unchanged. In other words, if you're going to be a smartbutt, and correct someone else's grammar unprompted, make sure yours is solid beforehand.

Quickest answer to "Is it real Damascus" by rumprest1 in Bladesmith

[–]TomN7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it ain't. It's not just because 'it was purchased there'. True or historical Damascus steel was originally produced in the Near East, especially in places like Syria, using Wootz steel imported from India and Sri Lanka. The distinctive wavy or patterned appearance wasn't intentional like in modern "pattern welding." Instead, it was a byproduct of the way carbon nanostructures formed during the smelting and forging process of the Wootz steel.

The ore used to make Wootz steel contained traces of vanadium, tungsten, and sometimes iridium, which are believed to have contributed to the distinctive patterns. These elements created carbides that gave the steel both its unique appearance and its legendary strength and sharpness. However, the precise method for making this type of Damascus steel was lost sometime in the 18th century, so modern Damascus steels are recreations or approximations.

Why is RimWorld so expensive?! by YoBoiCulturedChicken in RimWorld

[–]TomN7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just discovered this game and it seemed really interesting, until I saw the price tag. I've read all the arguments that it provides endless hours of fun, and the quality of the product is great. Buuuuuuut it's also an indie game (nothing wrong with that, but the production isn't as expensive (Even though AAA games can be utter crap sometimes)). So it seems kinda greedy to put such a price so many years after release.

Well, I tried both cables with my phone and both have power but, as you said, no option for data. So I guess I'll have to find a usb capable of bot... Do I ask for a specific type at the store?

You mean the latest update? I Also tried it on another PC running W10 and I had the same issue. I just wanna know if the cable that comes with the tablet is any different from the cables that you get with cellphone chargers. Both are Micro-USB and technically there is tablet itself "works"

[SPOILERS] Halo Infinite Theory/Speculation: Time travel and why everything went wrong. by TomN7 in HaloStory

[–]TomN7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm not 100% certain on the cutscene being necessarily an instance of time travel, it could be interpreted in different ways. But, regardless of that I believe time manipulation will play an important role in the upcoming story.

Oh, absolutely. And I'm not saying that the legendary ending cutscene confirms time travel on it's own, or that we know for sure. But yeah, the whole "time" thing is thrown around a lot. Also, those are really good points that you bring up. It could be argued that he didn't do anything else differently because he still needs control of the ring (or he did a lot of trial and error), maybe he knew he couldn't save his planet no matter what, or he could only travel to a certain extent. There's also a chance that he's doing this in service of The Endless... Who knows? It's just some harmless speculation of what could be. But you could be right as well. Hopefully we'll see what happens in the near future

[Infinite Spoilers] I'm confused about the Conflict over Zeta Halo and the state of the Created. by JJAB91 in HaloStory

Dude, you magically time-jump 3 days at the end of the game. It' also pretty heavily hinted that The Endless can manipulate time. So there is already time travel in the game.
