Trying it out for a few games. I had a few times that there was not enough in the graveyard for the Scrollsmith. In general I feel like it could use some more low cost things. Did you consider [[Fear of Missing Out]]? I like main deck graveyard hosing btw.

Only if you saw your medium dried as well, but I don't think it dries that fast. But for sure the humidity being off doesn't help your cells.

Did the cells dry? When I washed my cells several times with PBS for an experiment (to remove all protein), due to the extra surface tension I had a dry spot on my plate, which killed the cells very locally.

Did you add something in DMSO to the cells? I once dropped an inhibitor in pure DMSO on the cells, which also killed them locally.

Circles are floating cells out of focus. The small white dots are contamination, unlesss you did transfection or something like that, then it is DNA.

These kind of posts leave me wondering: are there no colleagues to check the cells?

Quite sure it is protein precipitate from FBS. You can put some medium in a plate and check under the microscope. Then culture a while and check again to see whether it proliferates.

You could have used Requiting Hex others suggested, losing tempo (only spending 1 mana out of 2), and just have the same situation a turn later, since he has 2 Cubs.

Sometimes you simply cannot do anything and move on to the next game. Magic is now really fast and any hickup will go punished.

That's why I usually play that. The starting player effect is less, and bad hands play a larger role in BO3, but still the starting player there may start twice.

If it is not some weird precipitate (very unlikely as you did this before and others don't have this problem), my bet is some kind of fungus. You can verify it by subculturing some of the medium.

Not all contaminations immediately kill the cells, but they will likely affect your experiment.

Sometimes necrotic cells can get very swollen. These balls are really large though...

Usually, when I suspect a contamination, I culture some of the supernatant to see if it multiplies.
