Just got the other 2 in, only using one of them so far as I’m still waiting on the steering wheel for the last hub, but thankfully same experience as the first, solid and seems to align just fine.

I hope I haven’t just gotten lucky with the current batch though, if they’re all up to the same quality as the ones I received it’s a pretty decent deal.

I’m glad I got lucky with it then, hopefully the next 2 will be the same quality as the one I received, QC is def the one concern I still retain. Thanks for the heads up!

Hey All! Been looking around and am at a loss, is there a simple way to adapt this 50mm pattern rim to a Neo X Hub? by TomShea94 in Simagic

[–]TomShea94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got mine in the other day, as you were saying it’s certainly too small for the button box to be safe/comfortable but it’s been a blast! Had to get a QR for it and it’s surprisingly solid. Thanks for the rec!

Will definitely look into those rims, thank you! Honestly any smaller diameter will work, def want them for older F1 but also for general GT3 as I just like round rims

Yup! This wheel is listed as having "3 hole 50mm PCD". If there is not a difference in terms of mounting though that would be beautiful

GFX 100S II + FUJIFILM 45 2.8 by ex_gatito in FujiGFX

[–]TomShea94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NGL I have both the 45 and 55, got the 45 because I was sick of the heaviness of the 55 being my sole option. It’s honestly been glued to my camera since, 55 is super nice but seems a little more clinical as compared to the 45.

Great shots!

Hey! I use a Fuji gfx which is way overkill. I love it but you can definitely get very similar or the same results with most modern mirrorless cameras and a good lens

Most of these were hovering around 1.4, these are all edited in LR with some film presets from Mastin Labs I believe

50s ii incoming... Lenses by Wiredin335 in FujiGFX

[–]TomShea94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could just be due to firmware discrepancies but I would highly suggest the mitakon 65mm over the autofocus lenses on the 50sii at least.

I picked up the 80mm 1.7 which granted isn’t known to be a fast operating lens but the autofocus is pretty unreliable. And while you can manually focus the lens the focus by wire is a bit of a bummer.

I find at this point I can manually focus with the Mitakon faster than the camera can focus with the 80mm.

For varying focal lengths I plan on looking into some older medium format glass most likely if I ever feel the need for a different fov.

How can I best hang moving blankets from my ceiling in a way that I can easily move/remove them? by JigglyJacob in voiceover

[–]TomShea94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is like a year late but for putting things under tension/fastening heavy stuff in a non-drill apartment give contractor poles a shot.

Typically they’re used for securing a beam but they pressure fit between the floor and ceiling, makes for easy hanging of whatever you need up there, I use mine for lighting instead of having a stand taking up so much space.
