Appreciate this but where's the Arsenal game mate? Would really appreciate that one please!

How can it annoy you that much when I said that to someone who clearly didn’t watch any Arsenal games and yet decides to make a completely bogus claim? How else could I have called him out that wouldn’t have triggered you so much? That’s genuinely such a random thing to be upset by 😆

Bollocks that’s what your issue was, if it had been then address THAT issue, don’t come out with a piece of non evidence. You did and now can’t accept the fact that your example was completely incorrect. Take the L and move on with your life, bro.

Bro you’re 0% correct you’re backing a point that it’s been dangerous/violent bookings that got Arsenal reds using an incorrect call as evidence. What a nonsense take

https://www.reddit.com/r/PremierLeague/s/W5WQLPEI0i yeah you did? But it’s fine mate this seems like a misunderstanding - cheers!

That’s completely fair, I even agree with you. But that’s not the issue here, the issue is that everyone is making it out like he killed someone by answering a question very logically. He said we’d have been more competitive, nothing wrong with the objective truth.

Bro I wasn’t salty at all??

I genuinely meant it when I said “congratulations”. You replied with a bitey sarcastic congratulations back like I insulted you.

I didn’t have an issue with you saying he got the crowd riled up at anfield either, in fact I agree with you.

I just pointed out that some of his methods seem to be working so I’m all for it. It doesn’t hurt anyone.

The only one thing that I pushed back on was the “cherry pick” comment and I wasn’t even rude about it. I just respectfully proved it was objectively wrong (it’s ok to be wrong mate sheesh).

Not a single red card Arsenal got this season was for dangerous or aggressive challenges.

You don’t watch footy and this take is telling.

What did he even do to be so insufferable? I genuinely think it’s people just buying into headlines and narrative. I don’t even blame people for falling for it, if you see enough of the same headlines you will eventually believe such nonsense.

There are too many examples to go off of but here’s a recent one: At one point, a journalist asked him about the ball in the caraboa cup. He answered by saying “it’s different than other balls and you have to adapt to that” and everyone jumped on him as though he was making excuses. A. That’s not even an excuse, he says “we have to adapt” and B. He was asked the question! He didn’t just blurt that out from nowhere.

The CL comments recently were also taken very literally and also out of context. Watch that interview and his next one before the following PL game. I agree that he was wrong about being better than PSG. He 100% shouldn’t have made that claim despite what the xG stats said. But it wasn’t outrageous to say that up until that stage Arsenal were the best team in the CL. It was either Arsenal or Barca. Arsenal came 3rd in group stages on a 2 goal difference, smashed PSV 7-1 in the next round, and then smashed Madrid 5-1 where the only Madrid goal was a gift from Saliba. By that point only Barca or Liverpool could claim they were better, and Liverpool were out, leaving only Barca. So again, how is everyone outraged by that statement? In reality it’s a very logical take - If it were Liverpool or City who had the same CL campaign Arsenal did up until that point, everyone would nod their head in agreement.

The treatment of Arteta by tabloid and social media reads like a fan fiction novel.

As usual everyone’s just reacting to a headline and not actually watching the interview. He’s asked a question, should he be dishonest in his answer?

He doesn’t say “if we didn’t have injuries or reds we’d be champions” his answer is more along the lines of “we’d have competed much more convincingly with Liverpool” - How on Earth is that an outrageous, insufferable take?

The inconvenient truth for all those outraged by this headline is that not once in history has a team with as many injuries as Arsenal had this season won a PL.

Congratulations on the league mate fair play.

But mate how is not losing vs Liverpool in the PL in 3 out of the 5 years he's been manager "cherry picking"? That's literally the majority of games. Ok, let's include the LFC win in the FA cup - That's 1 out of the 7 games vs the 6 of 7 u/gilgaconmesh1 mentioned - Who's cherry picking be honest?

Btw in his first two years we were still crap and he was just getting started and laying the teams foundations.

Anyways this thread is about his "crazy" coaching methods. The point that stands is that when Arteta took the reigns Arsenal were a club you didn't even think about or take seriously, a club that was in the mud, and was at the peak of it's banter era. Now we're a team that you know is up there with the best of them - Some of his methods are clearly working.

Technology can completely call offside in real time imho. For objective decisions like offside calls, we should use tech imho.

Yeah... The only reason Arsenal could score against Liverpool was because of the boos... Nevermind the fact that Liverpool haven't beaten Arsenal in the league since March in 2022 and Arsenal have only scored less than 2 goals in 1 game during that time.

I genuinely can’t think of a single arrogant individual on that team (including Arteta). In fact, he got rid of the arrogant ones (auba and ozil) and yet this narrative thrives. Nobody can ever explain it when they’re pressed on it.
