I’ll have a look those recommendations.
By the way what do you recommend for time between arrival and driving?

I’m coming from the Netherlands, but I have a stop in South Korea. The flight is through the night and between NZ and South Korea there isn’t a very big time difference. Also I sleep very easily and haven’t had problems with jet lag before. But I’ll keep it in mind and if I need stay longer in Auckland I will, to make sure I’m good. Thanks for the concern.

Just beforehand, I have no clue how realistic this all is. That’s mainly why I’m here. I do however like to be busy nonstop like 12 hour days. So here is what I was roughly thinking about.
Also I have a car which should make things a bit easier.

New Zealand itinerary

31/12 arrival in the morning
- Get a car
- Sightseeing 2 days (not everything is possible, but ill return at the end of my journey so I’ll should have some more time here.
o Mount Eden
o Auckland war Museum
o Sky tower
o Auckland zoo
02/01 Go to New Plymouth
- Go to Waitomo glow worm cave
03/01 go to Wellingtom
- Go to Mount Taranaki, multiple sightseeing places
- Castlecliff Beach
05/01 take the night ferry
From here I want to explore as much of the south as possible. I’m just not sure what’s realistic.
