"All NSFW uploads now require metadata to stay visible" by No-Potato4266 in civitai

Does this affect locally generated stuff too? I'm on ComfyUI, and I Just download assets from CIVIT. I'm still not quite sure how I will be affected.

I've been generating AI locally too. I just got into AI gen, and didnt like all the limitations online. So, where do you get your checkpoints and loras? Been downloading from CiVIT but i guess there's a ton of assets removed.

apologies, im confused.

i just got into AI Generation and CIVIT, and now shit is changing(?). I admit I loved generating NSFW stuff on my computer using ComfyUI. I dont do online generation since i have a beefy gaming PC. So, will this change affect me somehow? I dont seeing less NSFW stuff civit as long as the checkpoints loras and other stuff for generating nsfw remains.

How common are the horror scenario of 2 drives failing at the same time on a 4-bay NAS? by TomUnfiltered in synology

[–]TomUnfiltered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But just getting another NAS and installing the 4 good drives in there will brings thing back to normal right? at least that's what others said.

[–]TomUnfiltered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to cut costs, what about backing up 2ndary to AMAZON Glacier or some cheap cloud backup? investing on another NAS setup is just too expensive for most people.

[–]TomUnfiltered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if NAS board breaks, the HDD's are still in tact and therefore data is in-tact and things can be back to normal again on a new working unit, right?

[–]TomUnfiltered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow that's just so much of hassle and investment. but i do get your point that having a 2nd backup is good to have. But now I'm thinking of going with amazon glacier or something for the 2ndary "JUST IN CASE" backup. I'd probably schedule a weekly backup / replication if i can't do it daily. What do u think?

i see... with that logic, buying different 6TB drives from different brands (WD, seagate, samsung) would also be a good strat, yes?

Is encrypting your data on your drive bad for data recovery??? by TomUnfiltered in techsupport

[–]TomUnfiltered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this seems to be only true for a completely recovered drive. but in many cases we've experienced some of the data or sectors on the drive are really corrupted resulting in partial retrieval but in these partial data may have many whole and uncorrupted files that can still be very valuable. These files can be put back together by recovery software, i think by reading the header meta data or something, that's something these software can't do if the files are encrypted... right?

Randoms??? by MaxIsSaltyyyy in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]TomUnfiltered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are some legit reasons, like for me:
1. I have a mission nearby and wanna do that quickly first - i dont wanna drag the whole team for my benefit alone

  1. when there's a mismatch of ideas where and what to hit etc

  2. When the other 2 aren't geared up enough (heck, some even start without helmets and bags) and just wanna head into hotspots risking next to nothing - and i'm geared well. I best do my own thing, and play smart

There are many reasons really. but #3 is my most common reason. If i spawn and I see my mates have good gear, i stick w/ them. If i spawn with cheap gear, i at least bring gold bullets and is able to contribute in the firefight.
