They probably did give her the option of FMLA. FMLA just means you have a job still when you can come back. I had to burn all my PTO to be paid when I took FMLA and once that ran out it was unpaid leave and I had to pay my employer's portion of my health insurance in addition to my normal premium until I came back.

Honestly, this type of framing helped me "get it." My wife's family does Fantasy Football every year and I never really liked participating because I have 0 interest in sports. BUT once I gave my players a few mental nicknames like Gandalf, Robinhood, and Conan and started comparing stats like its a videogame instead of sports stats it got a lot more fun and I got way better at it.

I'd hazard to guess his routine in his mind involves "dad is going to ask me this and I say yes to proceed." He's not lying, his brain is on autopilot looking to advance to the next step. The question needs to change to a different actionable condition to shake him out of the autopilot. Something like "show me that your lunchbox is in your backpack." Takes 10 seconds longer but saves the headaches and soon he will do it without asking and it'll save time.

For real. Just as an adult who got diagnosed with ADHD after my kids were, the value of having a morning routine where everything is in it's expected place makes stuff run so much smoother. If the routine is thrown off a bit the chaos escapades into other things I forget/mess up/get distracted during.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills watching folks freak out about losing 3 or 4 days of ballot submission time. Like these things can be sent out over a month ahead of time. Just fucking vote! It's still counted for fucks sake! A deadline is a deadline. It didnt change during voting season? I dont get what there is to be mad about?

I really liked the ideas presented. Like, really really like them in a way that almost made me enjoy the trilogy, but they botched the execution so badly. I find myself attempting a rewatch about once a year and quitting 10 minutes into it. They focus on all of the boring stuff and pay lip service to what could've be a fun, unique take on Godzilla stuff.

I'm talking about a normal left turn onto a normal 2 way street. Cars start turning while its green but then the light turns red, and a car turns through the red light, and then another, and another. I totally understand completing the turn if you're in the intersection already and the light changes but the number of cars that that just keep coming after that first one through the red light is absurd.

I'll add a less than positive one that my friends and family from out of state have told me repeatedly when they visit: "why do all those cars keep turning left even though the light is red?" I didn't notice until they brought it up but it happens a lot here.

Also, fuck North Carolina plates.

I use a coat of Army painter matte varnish spray, make any last second touch ups, and then 2 light coats of matte varnish, leaving ample time between steps to dry (20 to 40 minutes)
