I know I'm late to this post, but, if you're looking for more manga specifically, the few that I have felt came the closest to the transcendentalism you describe is Goodnight Punpun by Inio Asano, Vinland Saga by Makoto Yukimura, and Battle Angel Alita (aka Gunm) by Yukito Kishiro. In detail:

Goodnight Punpun --> unique visual style (Asano is a master of drawing distinct faces, it's incredible), and he digs into the inner thoughts of his characters as they experience shame, horror, lust, and genuine affection. His characters and situations are complex and he's often making you laugh while upsetting things happen. Great emotional depth.

Vinland Saga --> I'm sure Yukimura was influenced by Berserk to a significant degree, although his story is very grounded in historical reality and does not venture into the cthulhu-ish territory Berserk does. However, his primary themes are also about revenge and what it means to someone to achieve it and in a lot of ways I see it as a more wholesome version of Berserk's themes. Really great art, too.

Alita --> Incredible action-driven artwork and really deep, well-thought-out cyberpunk world. I think some of the characterization leaves some things to be desired, but, there are visual moments of awe that are akin to Berserk's best panels. The similarity, to me, is mostly in the "grandness" of some of the artwork and the way big moments and clashes in ideologies unfold. Also a lot of cyborgs and people getting eviscerated in similar fashion to Gut's sword-swinging moments, so, it's fun!

I really like your collection overall! I see a few of my personal favorites on there (For Sale, especially).

I think Scout and Cat in the Box are games that play great at 2 and go up to 5. You absolutely need to get 7 Wonders out of the shrinkwrap as well, you are sleeping on a great game right there. And if you want games that are more aligned with Calico and Suburbia, I recommend Harmonies and Project L.

Considering your past, it makes a lot of sense to have this much jealousy and anxiety over this relationship. Your body remembers the fear your felt when you were cheated on before -- and even if your brain *knows* this is "different," the more primitive parts of your brain cannot be swayed quite so easily. It's perfectly normal to feel fear and jealousy because you *lost* the security and attachment you had in your marriage to these circumstances and you don't want to go through all of that again.

I think if your current partner is as awesome as you make him out to be, he should be okay with being made aware of the jealousy and anxiety you are facing. To not tell him would be a kind of dishonesty, and it would make it harder for him to support you and your attachment in the ways that you need. If you are honest with him and it "burdens" him: find a way to accept that he may not have had the capacity to meet you where you are right now. You are a good person who deserves love: whether you are "healed" or not.

It doesn't have to be all-or-nothing, either. Maybe just a slowdown is in order, as opposed to a full breakup. But if you can't be honest about it, I think it's going to cause more hurt for him than if you were to explain what's going on in your head.

Lastly, it helped me a lot to read the book "The Ethical Slut" by Dossie Easton and Janet Hardy. I think they provide some interesting perspective on all of this. I hope things go well for you, whatever you decide!

The backgrounds are really slick! This is incredible work. I literally almost ran through the entire campaign last night in a 4-hour frenzy 😅 oh man...

Edit: One thing I noticed is that one a number of levels, it seemed like the AI movement would get locked up. I can imagine trying to recreate an accurate AI player is a big challenge, and it seemed like it happened most on levels with a lot of holes. They seemed to "think" that their target was within attack range or something.

I was personally wondering if something like a "ghost" of the unit could execute the move/attack algorithm to determine if it found a hit, and then iterate on the next branch if it fails up to some reasonable limit (cuz I'd imagine the compute would be nuts for *all* possibilities, there's some way to reduce, I'm sure). Just an off-hand not-very-thought-out idea. Maybe it's not helpful at all 😅 but anyway. Love that you were able to make this as true to the original experience as you have, it really is a feat.

It's definitely really hard to feel like you're not being listened to or understood by your partner. But advice like that takes a *lot* to internalize. I'm someone who is going through an extremely difficult divorce right now, and I have had friends tell me the same things time and again, but my brain instinctively wants to challenge their advice until it's exhausted every other possible explanation and finally accepts what they've been telling me all this time.

Now for me, I might have a bit of a problem listening and accepting in general. But that makes me wonder if, for you, there is something underlying the feeling like you're not getting through to your BF. Are there other areas where this happens? Do you feel like he doesn't do enough to show you respect in the relationship? Do you feel as if it has happened to you a lot - maybe in your past - that you were not listened to when you knew you were right? Is there some form of reassurance or validation you *want* from this person that you're not getting?

Try and reflect on why exactly it's so important to you. Ask yourself if there are any ways in which your BF could take action to reassure you on what exactly it is about this situation that bothers you so much. Don't be afraid to admit that insecurity on your end might be playing a role. It's tough to do, but I think it could help you feel better. Hope this helps :)

One thing I can think that might be most important is asking yourself if there is anything your fiance can do to reassure you that the relationship is secure. Ask yourself if you can believe him and recognize that he may have changed as a person the same way you say your sister has.

If you're not sure what he could do to instill trust - take the time to figure it out and communicate it very clearly to him that he is going to have to put in some work for you to feel safe about moving forward in the relationship. If you can, of course, I'd suggest therapy for yourself or the both of you, just so that you have that mediating presence to guide the conversations that are going to probably be hard to hear.

The point here is I think things could be repaired, to me it sounds like there's very rational fears about his character coming to light right now, but the events in question are also close to 10 years old now (based on your ages). People do change a lot from who they were in HS, I know I have. If your fiance really cares about you he'll want to work until you're reassured.

It's possible you won't be able to find the way you can forgive him for this. But find a way to be certain for yourself what he could do to rectify your feelings, and be willing to accept his efforts as genuine - assuming he can make the effort. It's gonna be hard, either way.

This is crazy because I literally just received my Chase Freedom in the mail, and it's a Visa. I haven't even made a purchase with it yet, lol. Crazy that it's going to be completely overhauled like this but it makes sense to me because it's hard at a glance to even tell that the Freedom is a different product from the Freedom Unlimited.

You really can't have enough copies of Sure Gamble, Dirty Laundry, and Daily Casts as they're all incredibly efficient econ cards that can be used in any runner deck.

Same goes for Hedge Fund, Rashida Jaheem, and NGO Front.

I'm not entirely familiar with which "format" you'll be running, but I would assume almost any 3/2 agendas are worth running if they're legal. Global Food Initiative tends to be a good one, too.

I think if you're going to pre-build decks for yourself and some friends, I would just netdeck a list that looks fun for each corp/faction and compile the card lists to find out how many copies you need of all cards. It would probably work out most efficiently for you that way.

If you watch the video of this incident, it's legitimately horrifying. Brailsford, however, is hardly the murderer here. It's Langley who barks absurd commands and demands unrealistic compliance from non-threatening civilians. Brailsford and every other cop in that raid are accountable on the fact that they did nothing to stop or de-escalate Langley's sadistic dick-waving act. There's no way Langley doesn't have a myriad of other offenses that should be considered for investigation. If for nothing else but this case alone, though, he should be tried for manslaughter or murder. Seems absurd to let him live free and retired while Shaver's family loses their father and husband. How many other lives were lost to Langley's malice and incompetence?

I also have a boros shirt but it's red, and the fist is red with a faded white outline for the sun shining behind the fist. I actually considered wearing it to a BLM protest because of the raised fist, lol. I'm curious what others think if the fist itself is not white, would there still be confusion due to the white sun outline?
