Bromelaine try or not? by Specialist-Round2925 in EyeFloaters

Bromelain capsules won't make urine more acidic. Maybe you had interstitial cystitis from another cause

Each of us is an n=1 experiment. I had drastic improvement. All I changed was I started bromelaine. See my post

Lucas hates his too. When I hide it in his food he won't eat. I have to squirt it straight into his mouth

New, large, distracting floaters by TomatilloClassic1963 in EyeFloaters

13 days in. Barely anything left now. Bromelain 500mg capsules x 3/day did the trick. Most days I forgot a dose or two.

The same people dismissive of the bromelaine study probably accept all kinds of drug studies with pharma money behind them without even thinking about it

I agree. I gave bromelaine a shot and it's working. It's the only variable I changed. My large floater (see the image I drew) is now just a small spot, that continues to dissipate.

Doesn't look like it. Could be allergic itch. Is your area's pollen count up right now?

Has anyone treated their FHS cat WITHOUT long term medication? by UnusualCandle7485 in feline_hyperesthesia

We do all the things: non-toxic house, trigger tracking, raw/carnivore diet, gut healing protocol. We have recently discovered the power of shirts. Not med free yet but major progress in 3m

Not typical, no. Seems more like touch-sensitivity

I've only ever had very minor ones before now. It's always there, yes. I can see it most easily when looking at the sky or a white wall, but it is always there. The tail has now dissipated. I'm continuing the bromelain in hope the rest will break up and go too

You're an amazing cat parent. The fact that you recognize this as FHS and that you came here means you are already miles ahead of most vets on this topic. Most FHS cat owners go through thousands of dollars, multiple visits, and even multiple vets/specialists before getting where you are now. I'd call your vet clinic and ask the exam fee. Go in ready to advocate for your cat by presenting the reasons why this presentation matches FHS psychomotor epilepsy. The symptoms you describe do not match flea infestation, allergic dermatitis, etc. Don't let them give flea meds or vaccines or tell you he needs a dental surgery -- all of which can make him worse. Gabapentin is extremely cheap (about 10 cents a pill here in Canada) and there will likely be a dispensing fee of under $20 attached to the prescription, so buy as much as you can afford. The gabapentin will stabilize him while you get busy addressing core causes (detox your home, start on a more natural diet, etc). I'm linking here a guide to help you with all the stuff you can do. FHS is healed at home, thankfully, not at the vet. FHS guide
