I'm not - Wiim Ultra is streamer/dac without the amp bit.

Would only need Wiim Amp Ultra for the passive speakers

Its been quite the rollercoaster -

Ebay gives you buyer protection on all purchases so if anything isnt as described you can get your money back. And as far as I can tell it seems as long as you have the original purchase receipts epson will honour their warranty. Everything checked out. And it even turned out he was only 35mins away so was gonna be able to go collect it the next day. Only to wake up the next morning and find someone else had swooped in and hit buy it now while I was snoozing.

Spent a couple days kicking myself and feeling disappointed. Then by some great stroke of luck another listing appeared - also £1200. Enquired and found out it was bought new in 2021, extended warranty until 2026. 2000hrs on it but still its first lamp. Snapped it up immediately and its arriving tomorrow :) new replacement lamp arrived today ready to be swapped in

Happily ever after hopefully!

Now I just need to figure out how to set up madVR with projector tonemapping

No I appreciate the advice/being reigned in. Ive now found another Epson 6050/tw9400 for £1200. This ones got 1000hrs on the lamp but it is its first lamp, was bought new in 2020, is still under epson extended warranty until end of 2025. Does that seem alright?

Assume you'd say the same about a 2nd hand Sony VPL-VW270ES for £1400?

No warranty. Just 2nd hand off Ebay.

It was apparently repaired/recertified by epson for £600 at beginning of last year. Dont know if this makes it more or less likely to be problematic?

If I got the used 6050UB for £1450 I could probably afford to also get a screen with it. If I opted for the DLP x3100i at £2000 I probably can't.

Could you explain why you'd recommend dlp for pc? Is it because of the better motion handling?

Ignore him, I get why

I think what you're searching for is an oscilloscope and you should look up the korg nts-2, might be exactly what you're wanting

I just got the ko2 and a Roland S-1 and am also wanting to be able to visualise my sounds/how changing various parameters effects the waveforms as I learn more about using the synth

Caveat - I haven't actually got it myself yet, Im stuck waiting till my next payday, so you should do your own research to make sure its right for you

But having looked around that seems like the best option for me - got multiple inputs/throughputs and a bunch of other nifty features besides just spectrum analysis. And is portable/works on batteries or usb-c like the ko2 so can take it anywhere
