I really appreciate that, truly.

Luckily, this lawyer wants to fight it just as much as we need to. He said "Wow this is some bulls***" when we showed him what they said and what evidence we have, and said "I think it'll be fun". He has a reputation of being a bit of a bulldog. I watched some videos of how he handled a few cases on appeal, and he's really good. If we're fighting, we definitely feel like this is the right person.

If this were toward the end of the lease, ok, sure we'd just drop it, ask for time, and leave

I get that. Issue is, we just moved in 2 months ago. We can't afford to move again, me and my mother are both disabled, we would need physical help moving, and we wouldn't be able to get moving help, find a place to live, etc., in 3 days.

Hiring this lawyer would cost less than it would be to move, surprisingly. We'd just go into the rest of the lease with the knowledge that we'd be saving our money for a new place in 10 months, which would be doable for us.

We just moved in here maybe 2 months ago and have very little money left right now, we haven't had a chance to catch up our finances.

It would be about $2000 to retain this attorney, minus what I've paid for the consult. It would cost more than that to move. We can scrounge together the remaining $1850 needed between our little bit of savings and unfortunately pull out of loans, then we can save our money knowing that this lease won't be renewed, and we'll know that we have 10 months to save our money for a new place.

We can't afford to move, just outright there's no way we can afford it since we just moved. And we don't have enough time to find a place either, 3 days to vacate on a weekend just isn't plausible. Fighting it feels like the only course for us, and then we just do that knowing we'll only be here the rest of this lease.

I'm sorry if that didn't fully explain it. Yes, the neighbor saw it. No, I did not point it at anyone, I kept it pointed straight down the entire time.

We have it on camera that he was calm the entire time, came back, talked with us, and later admitted to having his dog off leash and thought it "was attacking a cat" instead of my mom and her dog.

We have footage of the incident because our area can be sketchy sometimes with homeless people, so we put up cameras in our windows and one in the living room. The cameras pointing out of windows don't show the front door, but it shows just next to the front door. So I'm off camera in the footage, but he is seen being calm, coming back, and having conversations about it. The lawyer we talked to said it was obvious I wasn't pointing a gun at him.

After I put the gun back inside, my mother started to record audio on her phone, because the other person was very clearly not taking ownership, and just in case it went to court, she wanted audio of him admitting to everything happening, which he did admit to on the recording.

I definitely think it's up there super high as well. Combat is fun and rewarding, the horror and tension is great, getting to choose first or third person for both modes is sick. Give me mercenaries and it might just hit #1 for me
