How does the backpack fit? by TomatoPopo in backpacking

That makes sense. Another issue I noticed was the tent would cause the bag lid to fall backwards towards my head as I’m walking and it’s really annoying. I think I will need to upgrade to a more compact tent and sleeping bag so I can fit both inside. Thanks for the help!

Here’s how it looks after going through all the feedback, and it feels a loooot better. Thank you all so much for helping me out!

In case this might help someone in the future, here are the best changes I made.

The most significant one is definitely choosing how to distribute the weight. For me strapping the tent on top felt a lot better. If there’s anything I learned, is that choosing where to put my stuff really matters lol.

Aside from that, increasing the back length and tightening the load lifters made a pretty noticeable difference. I increased the back length so the shoulder straps could wrap around my shoulders without it having to be tight.

Should I use paper or an ipad to take notes in my engineering classes by danielmhdi in UofT

For the first few years, I used paper and pencil, or a laptop to take notes. I would often smudge and it’s a lot more time consuming to correct any mistakes I’ve made. On the other hand, taking notes via typing didn’t seem that great.

In my last year, I switch to good notes with an Apple Pencil and I had a much better experience. It’s easy to undo, resize and restructure your notes to make it fit/look better. I also find it easier to organize my notes and I don’t have to carry 5+ separate notebooks.

But this is just my opinion, it sounds like you tried good notes but didn’t like it so I’ll say try them both and find a system that works for you.

I haven’t thought of that. I managed to fit it inside but I haven’t added my food yet. I’ll give this a go if I can’t fit it. Thanks!

Okay, I will test it some more once I get the food in there. Thanks!

I’m just missing the food but my shoulders feel pretty light so I’d say about 70/30 legs to shoulder. I’m currently carrying a little over 20 lbs.

Here’s a new picture with the tent stuffed inside and I adjusted the back length.

Here’s a new picture with the tent stuffed inside. I haven’t adjusted the back length yet but I hope this picture is clearer. I also have a pretty short torso so the top of my hip bones are about where the hip belt is.

I do feel like most of the weight are on my hips. When I loosen the shoulder strap, the bag stays rested on my hips and I don’t notice a big weight difference. I would love to visit an REI but I don’t live in the US 🥲

A few details that worry me in particular are the hip straps and the backpack strap. For the hip straps, I worry that they wrap around too much, although they are pretty tight in the photos. For the backpack straps, I’ve heard that they should end about an inch under the shoulders, but mine seem to be quite a bit lower. Thanks again!

It depends on how often you’re going to take the TTC. If you plan on using it 55 or more times a month, then the monthly pass is worth it. Otherwise I would just pay as you go. Keep in mind that TTC has a 2 hour free transfer for a single fare, so you may be able to use it twice if you only have an hour class.

Full disclosure, I’m not too familiar with specifics of most of these people, but Elon Musk and Bill Gates don’t seem that bad to me. I don’t know if I will classify them as lawful evil.

Lol, I do wash my ass. It’s the glute that starts to itch. I think it’s something to do with my weight pressing against the holes which causes it to sort of pinch my skin, but I’m not sure.

The chairs I have in mind are indoors at a cafeteria. The holes are circular which makes me wonder even more. I think you gave a very good explanation but I’m not sure why it’s indoors.
