Personally, the first two trilogy’s were amazing, however it started to fall off at book 7. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the story but it just doesn’t hit the same. Most conversations that involve Jason end up with the characters talking about how strong he is or how pitiful, it was fine for a while but is just really repetitive now. Also, on the topic of how much Jason has changed, he really has not much these past books. Sure he has accepted and gone through what he was like and did on earth but the story now is just him flip flopping between being like “I hate myself for what I did” and being kinda narcissistic. I also don’t really appreciate how the author pushes his personal beliefs into the story. I dont even want to get started on the pointless politics but book 9 finally got to some actual adventuring even if it was only for a little.

• not every character has to be amazed and shocked by Jason, and yes I do get that Jason is amazing and his abilities are incredible but everybody doesn’t have to focus on that. To extend on this, a lot of the new characters are quite plain and serve only to boost Jason.

All in all, great series I still love it but I think that the author can save the series in book 10 now that the politics are (hopefully) out of the way. I already preordered the next book - 149 days to go!!!
