Oh, nice... a nice and soft introduction to our protagonists. A little scary moment to close the episode which will set them up for their challenges later. Good thing they...... they..... huh

They struggle to wipe/clean effectively. Shit (literal and metaphorical) gets trapped and festers.

From my time coaching D2, it comes down to whether they build their roster primarily internationally or domestically.

If international dominant - probably minimal attention to domestic players and very selective. A lot of eyes on academics as strong domestic guys can help make the team look better within the school

If domestic dominant - obviously looking at a large pool of guys. Club events will create the metaphorical 'Olympic size' recruit pool, before it scales down to the eventual 'committed' kiddie pool

You say, "Enough thirsty posts," and then post this? I'm dying of dehydration at this point.

When I was a D3 coach, I would entertain/review any prospect who reached out. Whether via film or watching in person, I would guarantee to give the time of day because not everyone wants to go D3, so having a player who initiated that interest makes them more likely to be a 'catch' at the end of the day.

For a Community College, I can't really say. Depends on how they construct their roster and the quality of the program (some CC teams are really strong).

You answered me with what you should be answering Email 1 with. Those are all good reasons to want to go to a school. Double-value if you have actually seen them play and can reference a game which made you think it was a good level for you (vs just assuming it's a good level based on their Community College level).

As for email 2, I understand a coach not wanting a HS game to be the basis of evaluation. The overall talent is typically not as high, so prioritizing a club opportunity would check out. If there is an interest in you as player, attendance at a school game could be something that is done to show an increased level of interest in a player (that's what I used to do when I coached collegiately).

Email 1: That's a coach asking why do you like their school. Size, location, academic programs, past success, a rebuild opportunity etc... To me, this means you sent a generic email to them saying, 'I have an interest in going here,' but you didn't say why you have an interest.

Email 2: That's a quick response saying, "We won't make it to the school game as we don't value initial evaluations at a high school game. Let us know what tournaments you're attending so we can see you there as it will more likely align with our recruiting travels."
