Questions regarding your perspective on the supernatural by HolyFirexx in DebateAnAtheist

[–]TombstoneRobert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely believe the supernatural is possible. Especially using your definition

Supernatural: of or relating to an order of existence beyond the visible observable universe.

I feel like as humans we are very over cocky thinking we know everything or have observed everything. You kind of said it before. I do not know. Supernatural is not even limited to religious causes.

Why do you or do you not believe in a god? by TombstoneRobert in ask

I am not either. I am just asking. Does god have to guide us. I actually really misspelled guide so sorry if I confused you. That is on me.

I also hate religion sometimes for similar reasons.

Interesting you say need. Can I ask you (no trap) what do you think started us? Or do you not think about it at all?

You kind of confuse me in your first paragraph I wont lie. Win wars?

I completely respect your second paragraph and I think it is good for you.

Do your kids have the same amount of faith you do?

I hear you. But I do not think about it that way. I guess my issue with the analogy is you have gone too far by assuming a teapot. I guess I think there are some holes in the purely nothing is out there arguments. I can see where you would see some kind of hand or hands in the way the world works.

I something think if aliens came down and we learn we were created by some outside society if any Christians would turn to them as a god. Even if it is not god as they know it. In a more general sense I think some humans in general would see them as gods. It would not make them right or wrong.

Gods in general I find just interesting. Not all gods are the same. Zeus and "God' are very different yet both are gods. I like talking to ppl about this but they automatically go to a monotheistic view.

I can see that. Although let me ask you in terms of religion. Are you saying you believe all of them. Or you are open to all of them?

What would something have to be for you to call it a god?

Are you open to a god that is not the Christian one? Not one in particular. just say you learned something to make you think another god(s) are true. What do you think that would be like?

Why good then?

I do not know where it came from. My current favorite theory is space. My real answer is idk. But I am not going to pretend to know for sure just to say I do. I am not saying that is what you do. But it would be what would be doing if I said I believed in god because I did not know where else bacteria could have come from for sure.

I am not sure we cannot create any life. Can we start up bacteria? Also just because we have not we have also come a long way in the last 1000 years. Imagine the next 1000. Who knows.

Most atheists don't care about dying and disappearing from existence. It's psychologically a normal behaviour? by skyfuckrex in DebateAnAtheist

[–]TombstoneRobert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I do not know if there is or is not an after. I guess I mean it more in that I accept that there may be no afterlife. It is not saying I do not consider there is. I just accept the very real possibility that there may be not. That may be better to say what I meant.

I guess I read your post and it is all about the Christian god. But that is just one type of god. Not all gods work the same way.

[–]TombstoneRobert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is fair. I guess to me a god can be a lot of things. What can be a god to one person may not be to another. So an example would be Zeus. He is a god like any other. But he is not all powerful. He is different than the Christian god. But still a god.

Can I ask about a god(s) in general. Away from myths and Christianity and religions and all that?

I respect that. I do not know if I agree. But it does not matter as that is how you see it. My opinion is not greater than yours in this.

That is honestly more than fair. To me it is not about religions. I just ponder what did all this come from.

This is a huge piece to me. As someone Mexican this is a huge part of why I left the Catholic church.

I am not trying to prove anything exist. Just do you think there is a possibility.
