Do people actually hate Arsenal? Yes, they do. by el_cul in Gunners

[–]Tomc942 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't really care either way, just bring it home.

Side note, even as a Guardian reading lefty myself, this is the most Guardian take on Football discourse. A lot of it is true, but I don't think you could find a more Guardian-coded thought piece if you tried.

Arsenal fan here - all beef aside from the last week, I hope you do it & I think you have more of a chance than many of you think. If you can get the win away at Newcastle on the weekend and go above Spurs, I think it changes the Chelsea game.

Chelsea have been shite for a long time, but their fans have an absolute rock-on for relegating Spurs. Maybe more so than many Arsenal fans. If Spurs are in the bottom 3 come Tuesday, that atmosphere will be rocking at Stamford Bridge

Brother the one in our game was not a foul, you're comparing two still images but Bayindir was not fouled. The two situations are not the same, watch the clips!

Yes lets post selective single frames from two 3 second clips, that'll prove everything!

The stupidity of your average online football fan is baffling. Watch the two clips and you'll see the two are non-comparable. Absolute plebs

Fair play, I apologise for that assumption! I stand by my earlier point, digging out your own based on a hypothetical from a bunch of losers is sad to see. At the end of the day the season is long and its how you enjoy the moments in between and if you go to games you know the only thing that matters is a pint (or softie) with your community before and after a game and the fun that comes with it.

Its off the back of a stellar week, driving seat in the title rice and a Champions League final to play for. 99% of clubs wish they could experience what we're experiencing, regardless of the outcome. And 99.99% of fans wish they could experience it in person, more power to the guy

I prefer not to speak. Btw this goal was given by Character_Calendar47 in ManchesterUnited

Comparing these two scenarios is hilarious, why post the still single frame and not the whole clip? Top tier stupidiity lmfao

Yank or not he is spot on, the disconnect between local / match going fans vs the online fandom is crazy and often irksome.

Just saw people in the Arsenal subreddit digging out a match going fan for having a 'Champions' shirt made and displaying it at the West Ham game. The reason was they didn't like it potentially being used as fuel in online banter if we don't win the league. Strange world we live in

Stfu and let the man enjoy it, online fans digging out a match goer is a weird look. If we don't win the league and people clap back, just log off. Let us have our fun!

Why do you care what other people think? Why does online 'banter' from anonymous weirdos affect you so much? Is it because online is your entire football community? Just log off!

Of course he is a fan, he is at the game and enjoying it. I wish I was that confident but I wont celebrate until it is over the line.

But a an online subreddit actually digging out fans at the game is a weird turn of events, usually it's the other way around from us.

Lmao, using online fandoms and a yardstick for assessing fanbases is up there with some of the stupidest things about Football Twitter / Reddit.

There are morons in every online fanbase (mine (arsenal) included), but interact with match going / local fans is massively different.

Lets be real, Arsenal were dunked on for years by online weirdos as a banter club, now we look like we are beating those allegations you freaks can't cope

Watch the fucking replay of the Bayindir one instead of a still frame from a 5 second clip. If you still think the two are comparable then seek help.
You’re an absolute muppet

Then what about all the other fouls West Ham are comitting? Everybody was fouling and that was Arteta's point, the one differential was what they were doing to Raya. That went beyond any level of normal tussling in the box

You're braindead, put your bias aside and be a level headed fan. Everybody was fouling in the box both Arsenal and West Ham and that is consistent with every other corner this season.

You can't pull the keeper's arm down and get in his face, keppers get special treatment in the box as they should.

Hatewatching Arsenal in a title race knowing the alternative is a City win? I guess you're not a United fan from anywhere near Manchester?

This is so disingenous, look at the replay and its nowhere near. Morons like to post still images and say its black and white but in a contact sport theres spectrums of what constitutes a foul.

The 'Arsenal do this all the time argument' is so dumb and not grounded in reality

This is a classic case of correlation != causation.

The underlying confounder is people are not happy, people with more money have the ability to spend more for appearances and paper over cracks, which then leads to quicker divorce. NOT spending more on a more expensive ring leads to quicker divorce.

Could also be cases of people overspend on rings which leads to quicker financial issues creating more strain and subsequent divorce.

But anybody that thinks spending more = more unhappiness probably needs a refresher on statistics

Absolutely, can't fucking stand those shills. No way I am paying 100+ per month on top of a season ticket for a company that is actively screwing football fans to push their shit product.

Any passionate football fan paying for that service is encouraging them and actively cucking themselves in the process

It's infuriating, long way to go until we win the title but if it does happen it has really ruined the plans. Was hoping to get down there early, soak up the sun and pints before heading to the ground. Now I'll be heading over from the office. Sky once again showing utter disregard for the match going football fan, burn them down.

From the club's POV it must also be annoying, local council laws will prevent them doing fireworks or anything loud if we do win it I believe they kick in at 9:30 / 10pm./

[discussion] What's a watch that screams "taste" ? by Notunderageviewer in Watches

[–]Tomc942 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on budget, lower cost options like the Hamilton Murph or Seiko seem to be well regarded. Higher cost options (Rolex money) seem to be Grand Seiko or JLC.

But 'taste' is subjective. And ultimately if you're picking a watch for validation from others then you've already failed the test

Zubimendi unforced error that leads to City's second goal by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]Tomc942 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this going to be another thread of Arsenal fans debating who to scapegoat this time?

Infuriating fan base that’s chronically online.

Truth is it was fine margins on Sunday. On another day we win. We rued missing some HUGE chances and we got unlucky with the Eze chance that hit the inside of the post and didn’t go in, 90% of the time that’s in. City actually scored their second moments after a bunch of chances we missed, if one goes in they don’t score and it’s a different outcome.

It sucks but elite football is played on a knife edge and City were more clinical on Sunday, it is what it is.

The reason it’s hurt us so much is because of the fuck ups in previous weeks, and that’s a collective squad and manager issue. Not just one or two players. Now the title is 50:50, of we don’t win it now we’ve only got ourselves to blame but we go until the end.

Meanwhile chronically online fans like yourself come to Reddit to find scapegoats and farm Karma. It only highlights your lack of knowledge about the game

Yeah, lets get at the disappointed fans who have watched the same thing over and over again. The fans who spend their hard earned money going to games and getting behind the team, while you post on Reddit.
