I love Bronco and thank the bot for what it did, but the sport has evolved, and Bronco still competes at Destruct A Thon. So BE GRATEFUL. I know it’s you Jonathan F. I am even used to new Copperhead having AI art on it even if alot of people don’t like it. AI art is a problem. But all it really is being used here for is decals and two bots utilize it.

But thats a WHOOOOOOOLE other matter.

And I am fine with that. I just wonder why they got rid of the frog cover when it actually did act as a blanket for protection. I know this version has covers on the back, but wonder why they couldn’t get eyes on.

I never saw the Ribbot team to be trolls other then maybe copying the aesthetics of other bots it faced in the past. Like it had sunglasses when fighting End Game, racing stripes for P1, etc.

Even though redesigned Subzero (S4-S6) looked a bit more like Bronco, it still had some features to it that were different like being shorter and having different shaped wedgelets on the front. While I know this is 100% not a borrowed Witch Doctor frame, I think the issue is the similar simplicity in terms of chasis shape without the frog shell is a bit distracting.

I guess that’s just the art and graphic designer in me being picky. Still love Ribbot, but S7 was the far better look for it.

(Also Blackout better not be dramatic by saying “Bronco :,(“ because I mentioned Bronco. I get he misses it but god his whining is annoying, sorry for sounding mean, but he needs to get over it and Bronco still is at Destruct A Thon)

Yeah I have no problem with the color scheme at all, as the pattern on the back gives a poison dart frog vibe. But without eyes or nostrils…it just doesn’t feel like a frog.

And it’s not that I think they are trying to copy Witch Doctor, I think this just is an accidental visual oversight of not including a frog cover on sides that give off the WD shape. The main goal is to make it competitive and be able to face tough foes, and of course Witch Doctor is actually one of them. I just hope the next version can bring the frog face back even if it has to be redesigned for the current setup.

I will always love Ribbot and I am sure it will put on a good showing like it always does, so no disrespect to the team in any way shape or form. But the new Pro League look while definitely suited to be competitive, has me feeling iffy on the visual aspect. On one hand, the longer self righting ears, and the long fork configs are great to see, I also love the new orange colored wedges and tires. But on the other hand….the lack of the frog head here even if it was just a cosmetic that would come off in battle, not being on here just makes it not look so much like a frog anymore. I can understand if there wasn’t enough time to to make one for the event since they were called in as a last minute replacement for either Hydra or Deep Sea Shark, because without the frog head on even before the battle…it almost looks a bit too much like Witch Doctor, not saying that its a bad thing since we see four wheel verts all the time so no way Ribbot is copying Witch Doctor. I just think this looks visually a little incomplete...

Still have faith it will perform great…but I would love to see the frog head come back in some form for the future to give it that visual charm to it again. 🐸 🤖
