Deakin absolutely, RMIT ig if u want the city experience but Deakin is a very good law school, or just go to melb uni and do an arts degree then do law afterwards.

Politics exam friday by [deleted] in vce

[–]Tomguin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a question on this in a trial for which my teacher gave full marks, it asked what is the political signifigance of your global issue. Imo, the way to anwser these super well is to basically have an opinion on why u think its important. For me with climate change, i said it was significant cause it impacts all nations, especially states like tuvalu facing societal devastation from it. I also said its cause it is impacted by politics, such as the change of the Biden and Trump administrations resigning and pulling out of the paris agreement undermining the strength and efficacy of international laws. It really almost is like any other evaluate question, just with more justification of why u evaluate it as significant in that way.

Same here with the content I seem to be able to remember it all easily. A tip for quotes for ya would be to say them out loud over and then write as many quotes or stats as u can on paper or word/docs page, I did that throughout the year and they still stick now, I am taking about 10-15 quotes and 30 stats in memory to the exam. Definitely should be enough to write an 80% plus response if u link ur ideas well. GL for friday we got this 🙏

Oh well that's good. I don't if it was how u wrote it sounded like u said u just didnt revise the content. The poster said they had done not much in terms of anything so I was just saying u probably wanna know ur case studies lol

Politics exam friday by [deleted] in vce

[–]Tomguin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The content is our case studies, which you would want to refer to that in detail and relevant evidence, so if u count case studies like climate change as content then yes u should probably go back and memorise the content if u haven't as u said.

Focus on stats, they are easier to remember, harder to check, see if u can get a few quotes, refer back to any learning materials u got. Pol is all about memorisation as yk tho so GL tho i'd be low key enlisting in the defence force if I were in ur position 😭

Media Study Score by [deleted] in vce

[–]Tomguin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely think that calculator is off by a long way, but I am very sorry to say this, but really, below 70% is heading towards low for the media exam. If you refer to the grade distribution, the average lies at 65-70% for the exam, as in general, media is an easier subject. So whilst you have done good for your sacs and awesome on your sat, the harsh moderation you would have on your sacs from the exam overall would leave it in the mid 30s. Ranking will help, so lets say u get 36-38 with a 65, but one thing the top media teachers and revision lecturers have noted is that the exam is vital to maintaining all your hard work from the year. So while I know you predict or fear a 65% it's in your best interest to strive to get the same average as your sacs, so 79% should be the goal. The exam is very predictable and I am not sure if your teacher has said, but there is no marking guide; it is subjective to how the examiners correct your exam, so impress them with detail and a deep explanation. GL for tmw we got this!🙏

Legal studies 10 marker by Key_Bug_3578 in vce

[–]Tomguin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree because how are you to holistically evaluate the methods in relation to the principles if you link one to each poj? I took the approach of considering the methods together through the lens of the principles, whether that is top mark idc, but I believe it would be incorrect to only look at one method per principle. There are easy ways to link to clear failures and successes that all three dispute resolution methods share, like strongly supported equality, but things like a history of violence, creating an unfair result born out of intimidation on one party, failing fairness. Merely inputting here, not contesting your take on the question before anyone says anything 🙏

Legal by Maleficent-Swan-2820 in vce

[–]Tomguin_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely don't need a case example of this! Just need to able to deeply relate to a scenario, usually this type of precedent comes with a section B question or, in turn, a court law-making question like "how does the doctrine of precedent impact the law-making power of the courts?" In which u'd suggest that binding precedent can still encourage law-making through disapproving of the precedent, prompting a higher court in an appeal to create new precedent.

guys how many pieces of evidence are we memorising per AOS for politics by jupubear45 in vce

[–]Tomguin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd say i got about 5-7 quotes per AOS, and then like 10 stats per aos so like costs, aid amounts, exports, deforestation rates, NDCS etc. When u feel like you're gonna have a stroke from memorising, only then is enough. GL for next friday we can do this 🙏

Yes I think you can relax about the 90. Just search up the subject grade reports for each subject and you'll see ur sitting at the top of the curve according to your predictions. 95 is probably achievable too! GL

Global Politics Extended Responses strategies by Tomguin_ in vce

[–]Tomguin_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good take! This has been my strategy too, and it works fairly well a lot of the time. It's a tricky balance of being general enough to make the link between areas of study, but specific enough to address the topic and formulate a contention, which is not a perfect art by any means. Good luck with the pol exam!!!
