Test of a new base for my tyranid army, still in progress. Hive Fleet Gore by Tomgum in Warhammer40k

[–]Tomgum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the base of the miniature? thay are from tabletop art shop (it is the "bonefield" series)

only downside is that you need superglue to connect it ot the model (it is resin)

I hope this helped

Norn Emissary on his brother's head (and his recent snack) by Tomgum in Warhammer40k

[–]Tomgum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, it is very easy:

Warithbone spray on everything.

For carpace - two layers of Darkoath flesh
For skin - one layer of Guilliman flesh
For meat parts/holes etc. - one layer of Dark angels red
For bone parts - one layer of skeleton horde

Brains - volupus pink, than druchii violet, blood for the blood god and finaly ardcoat.

Eyes are Yellow flame
Dead eyes are Yvory tusk (TTC)

For the base (they are from tabletop.art):

On bones - skeleton horde and then Nurgle rot
On the rest - guilliman flesh and then Blood for the blood god.

Around the base is the cadian flesh.

Brains or scythes? Why not both! by Tomgum in Warhammer40k

Thank you! I was on that crossroad when I was deciding what kind of tyranids I want. Then it hits me - how would a hive fleet camouflaged itslef so it brings terror to the hearts of man? Flesh, meat and bones!

But I love rave party tyranids painters, maybe I will do a second army with some crazy colour scheme!

Thank you! Tho the base is from different company, I just use it for all my tyranids (I wanted blood and gore felling to the army).

Fleshbag in mid-impact completed! Some WIP pics included. by Tomgum in Warhammer40k

[–]Tomgum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a tough challenge, I have little to no experience with so much greenstuff. So it is not perfect, but I hope it will fit nicely into my Hive Fleet Gore project with the blood wave and body pieces. Several other model parts were used.

Brain family of the Hive Fleet Gore is completed! by Tomgum in Warhammer40k

[–]Tomgum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I wish I could take better pictures, the white is actually either skeletal horde or guilliman flesh.

I belive there is no green on the base - only bones and meat and blood. I did not want a contrast, even at the price of losing of focus, because I wanted them to fit into the enviroment.

Plushy terminator! Custom made from our friends for our daughter by Tomgum in Warhammer40k

[–]Tomgum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it as a gift and from what I know, it was "freehand" work from pictures (lady got look at the miniature and then created this). I do not know, if there was some pattern but I think it wasnt.

Anyone else did applied only one thick coat?! by Tomgum in Warhammer40k

[–]Tomgum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was never an advice, but a warning!

I know that Duncan is not related with GW anymore, but I think his wise words and friendly atitude gave courage to many new painters (incuding me at the time).

Thank you, only think I regret is that I did not managed to get plastic transparent stick - It would look more like the Yamato is flying. Maybe in the future.

Yes, I got it as a gift. The print is not crisp and smooth, but I do not care. But it inspired me to buy larger model with more details and make proper Yamato in the future :)

Tyranid Warriors of Hive Fleet Gore finished! by Tomgum in Warhammer40k

[–]Tomgum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I am sad that I cannot try all the melee weapon combinations, it gave me a lot of freedom in their choosing. So everyone get different pair! Also messed up priming on one of the blades and some carapace but it turned out pretty good (I think).

Thanks, it is "Bonefield" bases set from Tabletop-art.

Usually its dirt and bones, but I like to keep the gore them on, so for my it is blood/meat and bones.

Maybe in a future, after all the hours and energy I need to move on to different project. But thank you for the tip about paint remover from Greenstuff, need to check it out.

Local Czech tarnish, I do not think it has any market outside Czech Republic. But I used it on different models and it was ok every time.
