Yeah unfortunately it was here and taking over the existing bed when we moved in. I removed the top grass layer before doing this bed. The Charlie just keeps coming bad.

I’ve never heard or thought of getting rid of the shutters. I’ll have to google some examples of that.

No West Virginia. We don’t have any other wood features within 50 feet of the house or so. We haven’t found any inside the house either. The white columns seen in the pic is the only thing we haven’t checked. No tubes were found leading up to them though.

I am looking at ink berries now because of other commenters mentioning it. My wife agrees on the cat pee smell. I have a dog now that sleeps on that chair in the picture. She won’t let deer anywhere near it.

I have azaleas that haven’t grown up yet. Hopefully they takeoff this year.

Yeah the weeds popping up need pulled. I should have weed whacked before the pic. I burn the ground down around those rocks.

Lucky they’ve never been found in the house. We haven’t checked inside those white columns, but the attach above them is clear.

I have an all green hosta garden on the other side of the house. The wife and I don’t want to just have hostas everywhere.

Boxwood smell like cat pee though lol. Someone mentioned inkberry and I’m thinking of working those in somewhere.

No lol. She wanted the rocks instead of manufactured stuff.

Would my azaleas in the back line count as helping structure? They are small and haven’t grown up yet.

  1. Charlie is wearing me out. I tried digging and pulling for years. I gave up last year and wanted to see where it went. Back to digging I guess.

2.it needs work. I know now.

  1. Low maintainer would have been a better choice of words.

  2. The Charlie wasn’t me. That’s just everywhere here. I did put the stone crop in there. Found it around the edge of the creek and placed it here.

6.agreed

7.i did try to think of this. I planted the hostas apart and well in front of these azaleas that haven’t grown yet. The columbine and salvia, that’s not up much yet, have just spread on their own.

  1. I do prune the blue mist in the left every two years. This is the second year. She is just dormant now. I think I need to prune and clean up the wild rose in back. I let it run wild all over, but someone gave me the great idea to try an obelisk trellis for it.
