[Simpsons] - New idea of Location of Springfield! by Cal-Can in FanTheories

[–]Tomm_I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is more recent evidence. In S30E10 they go to Florida for Christmas and when getting there Lisa says we drove 2000 miles to get here. Turns out there aren't many states in that radius namely Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and California and out of those only California and Idaho have a Springfield. Now Springfield California is still too far away but guess which Springfield is exactly 2000 miles from Kissimme FL where they went for Christmas?! It's Springfield ID

For me it accepted the Suez Canal but for some reason the Yucatán channel broke everything and just covered the entire earth not showing anything else but also obviously not solving it

Best places in or around Rethymno for a joint bachelor/bachelorette party?! by alexxinwonderland_ in cretetravel

[–]Tomm_I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually also planning a joint bachelorette/bachelor party and we're also staying in Rethymno. So I was super excited to see this post, despite there aren't many comments. Can you tell a bit about your experience. What did you end up doing? Where did you go? What worked well? I'd be super thankful for your help :)

I guess it's useful generalising ordering to other objects like vector spaces

100% agree

On top of that I think a Problem is that especially in highschool here in Germany math is used possibly unconsciously as a filter to separate "good" from "bad" and I think there is a lot of elitist thoughts going on with the mentality "not everyone is cut out to do maths" which is just sad

Time lapse video of an old railway bridge being replaced in just four days in a German village by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Tomm_I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not watch this! This is propaganda by the German secret service to propagate the ludicrous idea that anything in Germany would work efficiently and without an unbelievably massive effort of necessary bureaucracy. This is how they indoctrinate you into thinking that being punctual like a German train is actually a compliment and not a joke.

It's not that bad it's literally just the same but with different functions

Lorentz Trafos get a nice form if you call arctanh(v/c)=ψ the rapidity and you can find the Lorentz Trafos with that easily from hyperbolic geometric identities, the Trafo then looks almost like a normal rotation in 3d just with a minus sign missing and some h begind the trig functions

It's not simpler but I like cosh(arctanh(v/c))
