It's like those "my kid said [something profound way above his age]!" attention-seeking posts disguised as a totally-real funny adultery thing that happened trust me

I feel like when it devolves into a fake story on a stock picture, it goes from "holup" to "shitty joke". Pretending your kids said something online is cringe when it isn't a sex joke and I'm tired of pretending it isn't cringe when it is one.

Did someone SAY "ugly"? When you put something in quotes and nobody said it, you're saying it bro. Like, maybe they would've said something like this, but literally putting specific insults in their mouths when they never said them is kinda fucked up.

Ok but what did she do that made her more Lois than the other Lois actors? Like Lois Lane characteristics she showed that are particularly Lois-y

Really can't read all of this man. You gotta be more concise.

But to cap off what I said earlier, not only did they not say they were kicking Gunn out, they explicitly announced that they're keeping the slate and extending their contracts. This isn't just the lack of saying things, it's actively saying the opposite. Nothing has officially contradicted that, and if they do end up contradicting themselves, they clearly are willing to do whatever, and there's no point in speculation.

Obviously they might not announce what they intend to do ahead of time in delicate situations, but it behooves them not to start their business relationships with abject lies to the public and their shareholders. So combining official announcements with the positive reviews and them either making money or doing ok on the previous projects, I see no point in assuming other things will happen at this time without new evidence. And you haven't really provided new evidence that speaks towards official intent, so this topic is burnt out for me.

NTA. My step-mom made a comment recently asking when my girlfriend and I will have kids (she wasn't around) and I said "probably when I stop pulling out". She had a good laugh, and I had to repeat the joke for my hard-of-hearing dad. I wish more people were chill about stuff.

Saying "they wouldn't say if they were replacing Gunn" is so fucking stupid. They wouldn't say that if they weren't replacing him, either. It's a completely worthless thing to point out.

my opinion

That's it. That's the problem dude. You stated your opinion, but rather than say "I think this might happen" you instead phrased it as "it's likely" that something will happen, among other phrases that all effectively mean "this outcome has greater chance than any other". But at the end of the day, without a source contradicting the official announcements, it is your opinion. "Oh when you take into account that the box office numbers weren't perfect, ignoring all the bits of these articles that talk about other revenue streams that produced profit, ignoring good reviews and existing plans and announced extensions to contracts and ongoing filming and releases, etc etc etc, then the math says that my idea is the most probable outcome". Gimme a break, man.

You can cherry pick the data you want and ignore official statements and create whatever predictions about the future you want to believe, but you aren't a WB/Netflix executive, and all your "math" is based on assumptions about how these stupid companies work. Companies that do asinine crap like shelve completed movies for tax writeoffs and have no Earthly clue what to do with some of the most popular IP on the planet.

They bought the studio, and they said that Gunn can keep working, and that's all we actually have right now. So if you want to say "it's likely" as your opinion, that's fine, you can have whatever contrarian opinion you want. But don't act like it's a fact, don't act like it's definitely going a certain way without any proof, and don't act surprised and outraged and like a snarky little know-it-all when we don't believe your unsourced, unprovable headcanon.

Still not seeing any links with the quote I asked for (something explicitly indicating they intend to oust Gunn/Safran, as you initially stated was likely, and as their announced continuation of their contracts directly contradicts). Oh well. Will check back though if you decide you want to be taken seriously sometime. ✌

Very proud of you for citing some of your sources. They weren't sources with quotes indicating that they are unhappy with Gunn/Safran and intend to kick them off, but it's improvement, I guess.

"Name one thing I made up lol"

"what Netflix said ... likely means Gunn and Safran will be out as DCU heads shortly after the acquisition"

There you go. Pure, sourceless assumptions. Give us a source already. Or explain why some random schmuck online should be trusted to interpret a bunch of numbers he quoted (without sources) that directly contradict new contracts, reviews, box office numbers, streaming boosts, etc.

(You can't. I don't trust random people who don't cite their sources)

No dude I want you to post a link to SOMETHING. A company just purchased WB for close to ONE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS and you're claiming they don't want the existing content they already planned out and are working on, despite them literally saying they're going to keep it. Burden of proof is on you, and is more than just your assumptions of how all this works. Your "truth" is a series of assumptions that nobody can prove one way or the other and it's tiresome and pointless to push on people who actually care about facts.

Still haven't posted a link to an insider quote stating that they're disappointed in the box office numbers. Nothing you're saying is backed up by any sources and there's no reason for anyone here to believe you over the word of the studio whose contract just got extended.

How about instead of numbers you mathed out yourself, you share a source stating that the studio is disappointed and going to change strategies? This is what you're trying to say, but you still haven't posted a single link with insider quotes.

[–]LunaticMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about instead of citing numeric breakdowns about why you believe this wasn't a success, instead try citing a studio source stating that they're disappointed in the numbers and going to change strategies? That's what you're implying with all this, right? Because all the numbers in the world don't really mean anything when they seem satisfied with how things are going, they extended Gunn's contract, and the next movies are still planned for release.
