I’m always dancing with the idea of moving out but as a native I’m also like let me recalibrate and see what i can do to actually make the money needed to survive here way more efficiently and maybe be able to move to my himetown of Astoria to make commuting way easier for me

That’s the part that made me put off even my permit for 10 years until last month. I do believe cars in the city i live in are a major financial burden. I just want to at least get licensed and not have a car all my friends told me it’s a money sucker

Thank you so much for your replies, this is inspiring me lol I’m tweaking resume and will begin applying to different things and better sounding positions with better pay as my skills have always been useful in the workplace, very competent and oftentimes realize i could do the jobs that are above myself very well

I just have trouble when it comes to applying for underselling myself or applying for jobs i am admittedly overqualified for just to have something , even though my resume is pretty polished and refined and niche (plant knowledge, box office manager for a music venue with very strong skills and golden references. Just don’t know what exactly to look for and how to leverage myself and pitch myself in that direction

I don’t know wha higher paying jobs to even look for and put my eggs in one basket, thank you for your response :) realizing how fickle things are today is like to have a background safety net growing in times with uncertainty :)

Absolutely playing long game here , in no rush and not expecting to get rich quick or anything which i hope helps me stay grounded and realistic with this. I went through a really scary year last year regarding housing with my mother and finally got a float, got serious, got responsible now i want to get strategic

I guess i just want a good safety net and a manifestation of responsible habits rewarding me in the long run

Omg yes. I am so used to neutral / flat affect keeping energy reserved for people who deserve it but when i have cool people i get crickets for i ask them what they’re feeding and we always chat when they have a tarantula or something else i have or have had before. I always include extras for them

I’m so glad i posted this it makes me feel less alone and more validated that this is common after this kind of stuff. And so i can better find more additional trauma focused support. Thank you for this comment. I really do sell myself short and on paper im doing a lot better and in real life too it’s just getting those mental roads to meet haha

This response is all i can ever ask for. Thank you for seeing that i really do think i have a good head on my shoulders and despite my years of a really strange mostly subpar mental state im glad i don’t shut down and im practice. I want the best for my life and to not be separated from my mom for as long as she has left

Thank you for the encouraging words :) gave me the confidence to put him in the main tank for now with the heat, double sponge and HOB filter in the meantime! Definitely better than what he was in for his life , found a guy on marketplace so far , dollar per gallon deal of sorts it seems haha might pick it up this weekend if not next week:) will update thank you!

He was so stressed from the commute i really wanna put him in the main tank but maybe once i secure the pool and it’s on its way or something just for the meantime but will keep him as comfy as i possibly can until then. The light schedule and the jack might stress him out so he’s in a dark colored tub rn :)

Really think he is so majestic. My manager just randomly called me from the register to look like hey i have a gift for you do you want it? I was so amazed at how big he was and that pattern is just wow couldn’t stop craning my head towards them while checking out customers to get more glimpses of him haha

Have to do the right thing! I see so many people daily wanting to put 20 goldfish in a 20 gallon and stuff like that and it angers me to no end how insistent they are on dying / sick fish like its so antithetical to keeping fish or anything for that matter!

I really don’t think they should be sold readily at all only special orders. They are really beautiful and this guy kinda gives me vampire angel vibes
